This is about as neutral a draw as you can get. Play 1 top 4/bottom 4 twice. Which in my book cancell each other out.

Then pay the teams that were in contention for spots with us until round 24 twice. Sure, we could have gotten North twice or Bulldogs twice, but really this is much of a nothing. Break even here.

So there you have it the most neutral draw EVER!!!.

gotta be happy with that:thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

Looks like a good draw cant complain.
I havent bothered looking but it wouldnt suprise me if Melbournes,Kangas an Richmonds is even easier.

We Only played GC 1 time last year would of been nice if we got them or GWS twice in 2012.
Wouldnt suprise me 1 bit if Kangas,Richmond an melbourne play them both twice

North play GWS twice
Tigers play GWS once
Melbourne play GWS twice

It is interesting though that Richmond only has to travel once in the first 11 rounds.

Geez it'll be irritating if one of those teams pips us to a home final by 1 win.

The compromised draw has never been worse with GC and GWS throwing everything completely out of whack. The AFL might as well have just started the season with those teams having a 4 point headstart over us.

It won't matter when we beat them twice though will it?

Even with the easiest draw of them all last year, Melbourne couldn't make the finals and had they not tanked the last game against Port, then we would have had pick 14 they would have had pick 16 and the whole MC saga would have been turned on it's head.

The good = its a very good draw

The bad = the players may slack off because of it and "think" they have an edge; thus thinking all they have to do is show up and the others will take the load.

I really think over the last few years that if we are expected to win, there are a few too many on the field that take it for granted and we lose or we just get over the line..

And that we play our best football when we are against the odds..

Playing Melbourne at Etihad? Interesting.

Can't be a bad thing though, Melbourne at the G gives me nightmares these days.

Not a bad draw though, no reason why we can't be 3-0 heading into the Saints game.

I'm looking foward to playing a genuinely big team for the Len Hall game, will be our second consecutive Friday night game- massive couple of weeks there!

Anyone with that attitude will have a very short career under Lyon.

Can't believe we get GWS and GC once each while Adelaide get them both twice after also getting GC twice last year.

Only play 2 top 8 teams twice, and they're both teams we can knock off. Also the last match is at home, so can't complain at all.

Edit: Make that only WC, who we always play twice anyway.

We've been kissed on the dick.

Where's the ugly ?:D

Relatively easy draw, but I'm surprised at the exuberant in the thread. Firstly we've proven that we struggle against the Melbourne and Richmond's of the world in recent times (bloody p****s me off too) so nothing is a given there. Like that we don't play this season's top 8 too often, but who knows who's going to spring up this year. Last year you'd take WC twice in heartbeat, they ended up top 4.

Speaking of which, WC showed what you can do with a nice draw if you get everything else in order. They had a relatively easy draw as it turned out last year and it certainly helped them turn a good season (say top 8) into a great one (top 4 and a prelim-final). Hopefully we can do the same.

If you honestly think Ross Lyon would tolerate that, you must have been living on Venus for the past 6 years. ;)

Its Not a bad draw compared to other clubs. Sure Adelaide play the suns, giants and power twice. Yet Collingwood justifyably get a hard draw playing carlton and hawks twice.

So who does freo play twice? Eagles obviously and also the likes of demons and tigers, Do we play Port and the crows twice? I see freo got 2 games at AAMI again which is good for me.

West coast have a hard run and get collingwood twice which is their reward for getting top 4.

Lookng at the Fixture since theres 18 teams I reckon its seperated in 3 different sections...

section 1: teams ranked 1st to 6th

section 2: teams ranked 7th to 12th

section 3: teams ranked 13th to 18th.

Since the crows finished in the bottom 6, they play some teams twice that finished around them.

Freo finished around 12th and Not suprisingly freo play teams that finished near them like demons and tigers.
