2012 Season

I was at the Thurgoona v Wodonga Saints game in round one and was impressed by both sides. The saints are a fair bit better this year than what they were last year, good to see them on the improve but they obviously still have a long way to go - 200+ point floggings aren't great for morale. They MAY sneak in a couple of surprise wins this year against the lesser sides like Rutherglen or Beechworth
Thurgoona were super impressive. They look really well drilled and seem to have depth.....it's not just a dozen or so guns carrying them this year, the whole side looks like they'd fit into any other TDFL side.
I know I thought Barny might be the side to beat this year, but after watching the dogs performance I can't see them throwing away this season like the last one!

Unlikely. Wodonga saints will win one, maybe two games for the year. Depends how many times they play tallangatta

Barny by heaps.
Thurgoona. Not sure if anyone will beat them yet.
Kiewa. Good to see them back with a full team, too good for the cats.
DMB by heaps.
Mitta. Should be a good game. Good test for yacks new recruits but I think mitta will be to strong at home.
Chiltern. Probably by a fair margin.
Agree with the cook statement.
Good luck to all

Tipped the card the first round but didn't get them posted here in time. Ah well, here goes for this week.

Barnawartha vs Wodonga Saints A big percentage booster coming up
Beechworth vs Chiltern A big win for the visitors
Mitta United vs Yackandanah Expecting a good standard game here
Rutherglen vs Kiewa Sandy Creek Should be a romp in the park for the visitors
Tallangatta vs Dederang Mt Beauty Unfortunately another blow-out game for the comp
Thurgoona vs Wahgunyah Will be a lot closer than many expect

This round seems pretty straight forward in picking the winners, and should showcase the unevenness between the sides in the comp this year.

Barnawartha v Wodonga Saints - by a big margin.
Thurgoona v Wahgunyah - they should win this one comfortably.
Rutherglen v Kiewa Sandy Creek - should be another one-sided game.
Tallangatta v Dederang Mt Beauty - DMB by a lot
Mitta United v Yackandandah - this game should be the match of the round, mitt by 2 goals
Beechworth v Chiltern - Chiltern should win this by 30 to 40 points I think.

I hear yack domanatied all day maybe there the surprise package of the yr ? easy win for the dOgs will take some stopping ? Signing another gun money not a problem at thurgoona ?

Watched 3/4's of Barny V Saints game and alot has changed for the Saints. The seem alot quicker and skills alot better but still got beaten by alot. Barny have picked up few good players. Incrediable Hulk Ladgrove is a freak on the ground. A booming kick and great hands. Played both ends and played really well. His Skater Boy brother has bulked up since last time I saw him play but as they say " he played his role " . With Monkey Magic pretty quite up forward they didn't need him. Did notice something that there backline might be there weaklink. Also if Curious George Atkins plays well they seem to following him.

Hmmmm, a bloke that posts about Jindera then suddenly switches to a lot of knowledge about Yack............

Well hopefully your wrong like your round 1 tips... time will tell.

Don't get me wrong I want them to win games. The better all teams are the better and stronger it makes the league. Obviously they are doin good things down at saints, I'm just saying that it won't be a quick fix, it will take time and goin off already played games they don't seem near the other teams yet. But your right time will tell and I wish them all the est for this year and many after.

Well yack got up for my upset last week, fair chance people might start rating them if they keep that up against good sides. castles has had a great start to the year. he may be the best find in the TDFL to date.

This weeks tips
Chiltern v T'gatta by heaps
Wod Saints v Beechworth by 3pts, craig jarvis goal after the siren
DMB v Mitta by 19pts, 3 players sent off in last term by thier "own club umpire"
Thurgoona v Barny by 59pts
Wahgunyah v KSC by 9pts
Yack v Rglen by heaps, Castle to kick 10goals.

Yeah whats the go with Mitta, James Grey misses two seasons with injury them comes back gets reported and takes a week for whacking the Yack fullback, no sure Packer would be to happy with that.
tips are as follows
Swannys go the red& whites
Bushys, with Dillion back they will win
Rangas in a close one in the match of the round
the remaing three games all one way traffic Dogs,Hawks and Roos to win by plenty

Agree about castles, he is playing some very good footy and maybe teams will start to pay him a bit closer attention.
Tips are: Chiltern by heaps
Beechworth, but could be a close game
Mitta, could be close as well
Thurgoona, just to good for everyone it's looking like
KSC, too big and strong for the lions
Yack, the cats seem to be goin no where.

Okay, here we go with selections for this week's round of matches, which could see a couple of splits in the ladder:

Chiltern vs Tallangatta The Swans should easily keep their perfect record intact.
Wodonga Saints vs Beechworth The Bushrangers to open their account at the expense of the Saints
Dederang Mt Beauty vs Mitta United The Bombers in a game that goes down to the siren
Thurgoona vs Barnawatha The premiership favourite Bulldogs to continue flexing their muscle
Wahgunyah vs Kiewa Sandy Creek In an upset the Lions to surprise the Hawks in a thriller
Yackandanda vs Rutherglen The Kangaroos to bounce all over the Cats in a landslide

Enjoy the football.

Is there any truth in Leigh Cameron pushing a trainer while he was treating a player injured yesterday?

Wouldn't really be a surprise, he is a clown. Maybe wahgunyah didn't have any young blokes he could try belt do he moved on to trainers. HERO.
On another note, was in yack on Saturday and really felt for some of the cats players. Curtis, Kay and Seymour dominated play all day and in the first three quarters had help from the rest. Unfortunately in the last quarter when the game was really there to take some of he younger boys just were not up to the task. Was really hard to watch these other three boys who all ran to the point of exhaustion and kept putting there body on he line to no avail. Seems a big problem at rutherglen, that's twice now they have put themselves in a winning situation but couldn't follow through. Actually a pretty solid team if they can put 4 quarters together.

Nothing in it at all Pussy Parlour, just a nice heated discussion with a few people, was quite entertaining listening in from the fence half the crowd was in stitches laughing at them berating each other
Hard Truths as an opposition supporter and watching him play he may be a clown on the field but I'm sure most teams would want him in there team, can see why he gets his reputation as a thug but all was fair on the weekend, copped as good as he gave out.

Before anyone gets to upset. It was a joke. I have met him a couple of times and he is a good bloke as far as I can tell. It was said in fun. And you are 100% correct, any team would love to have him. Was t meant to offend anyone, just having a light hearted crack. All in fun
