which ground do u enjoy playin on the most ?
as a buffs player i love our ground. i enjoy playin at logan and redcliffe as well.
good atmopheres there. looking forward to the derby this weekend.

I like our (Coomera) surface. Similar to Beenleigh except our centre prob takes the biscuits. Sadly it probably isn't the most crowd friendly in terms of viewing (wish the council would spring for some stands). That trophy would prob go to Redcliffe or Logan (up one end anyway). I feel for Nambour after the hard work they did to get their ground looking good but after our recent game in the torrential rain I would say it is a bit choppy with some hard patches?

Any reports on how it pulled up?

Let's just say they were "inconsistent" and made some very "creative" decisions. In my opinion if you don't remember them they did a great job.... Alas, they were probably remembered by both sides equally.

Can anyone shed light on this- week before last we had a deliberate rushed behind free kick paid in our game (although he was being tackled at the time). I was under the understanding that rule wasn't enforced in our division regardless. Any ideas if I'm wrong?!

We had a similar decision against redcliffe, not being tackled though, and at a crucial time in the last quarter.

I questioned both umpires as I thought the same as you, and they said the rule is enforced in our div. I argued that was strange as I'd never seen it paid before and at the coaching course I did they said it wasn't enforced in our div.

Yeah I definitely thought it wasn't. I can't even remember it being paid in PHC but do remember a discussion on it when it came up. As a backman I should prob find out!

My understanding is the deliberate rushed behind isn't in many of these divisions, deliberate out of bounds is but the umpire's are very approachable during the week through their patch of the website, might be good for all teams to get confirmation

rushed behind is now a rule in all seniors including under 18's. and nambours ground at the moment is probably the best in the comp. no joke, it is perfect at the moment, flat and nice to run on. in terms of other clubs, i found ipswichs ground to be very good. which was suprising actually givin its location, just looks likes another random park. but it was great to play on

Best in the comp 2 weeks after it was a pig pen?

I'll accept it's much better, but the best, you muppet assjar

Our ground is like carpet right now as I'm sure mighty leopard will agree.

Oh but thanks for the rule clarification mate.

Good to hear Nambour's ground is ok! Would've been nice to see it on a good day. Ipswich's ground wasn't too bad from memory but will have a closer inspection on Saturday!

Think you will find that it is Morro - could never see your ground being the best with a cricket wicket stuck in the middle - either rock hard there or sticky mud plus it is a bit up and down from memory.

Moral of the story - never doubt the sunny coast lads and their knowledge of their own grounds...:D:D Maroochydores was despicable 2 weeks ago - now we might even let Carlton play on it again...:)

But we should doubt the Brisbane and coast teams knowledge of their own grounds?

Again with so much 2nd hand info.

Ps. After last night Carlton might get sent there again sooner rather than later :)

Yes that rule is enforced in all senior and u18 comps.
Apparently it has been for the last 2 years ….. go figure why the players don’t know about it. In the 3rd div (2011) GF one of the umps paid deliberate but didn’t quite get it correct and instead of paying a free kick he balled it up????? I have seen it paid in Div 2 this year but according to the AFL it should not be paid when a player is “under immediate pressure”. I would suggest being tackled is immediate pressure. Another fantastic decision by the men in orange by the sounds of it

When dry, the Nambour and Beenleigh grounds are great (terrible when wet at Nambour). Beenleigh, though, does have an odd-shaped boundary and I remember last year they had a bloody huge metal box near that boundary too! Good how they decided to shift it. Redcliffe is the best ground for viewers, and Coomera's is the most interesting in terms of location.

If they were to select a rep side for our div who would you guys recommend from your club. 4-5 max

If you know any others form other clubs put there names up as well.

It would be interesting to see what you guys think.

Who would be skipper?

Would be fairly hard to select guys from UQ in the Div 3 comp for obvious reasons. Last year we had guys like Dan Lutton, Sean Powyer, Micheal Swann, who were all products of the UQ 3rds/4ths and are either now playing senior footy for UQ or took part in last years Premiership.

That said, I would be interested in hearing other clubs opinions of the UQ 3rds and 4ths players, just out of curiosity

Hmmm.... Very tough call as it depends on what positions are needing to be filled.

Our two instant inclusions from last year (Big Zac and Cloughy) are in USA and Cairns respectively...

All I know is that there would be a fairly impressive midfield in a rep side from this division.

I'll be waiting till half way through the season to name my team this weekend will be a big weekend to determining my team as I'm headin to tansey and can't wait to see the flying pink boots in action and a few others who I'm keen to see play. The surfers boys that we had last week are all playing bar one who is away.

They all look like possibly staying on with 2 already signed I believe.

Well from what mighty posted that should make a very interesting game. And weather should b perfect too.... Anybody know if flowers kicked any last week or who played well for Logan????? Excited to have a beer after u play mate will u be staying around ???

Surely someone fromLogan has a computer to respond ?

Yeah they do they stole it from someone, but the problem is when they start it up it says press any key to continue but its months later and they still can't find the any key !

Casting my line out !

Buffs are generally not too welcome mate when we visit Logan. A rivalry from well before my time but their supporters are not overly respectful or hospitable even this many years on.

ps. I am sure they would say the same about us unfortunately.

Didn't say this did I but you were very quick to doubt whether Nambours ground would get back into good nick despite being told by those who play there that it would be great in a fortnight weather permitting.

Not sure 2nd hand info includes training there once a week for 6 weeks last year???

Actually thought the Blues battled hard - the Saints were just terrific with their pressure but when the Blues didn't have any of their top 6 playing any good and still be in the game, thought it was a reasonable effort in the end.

Considering I have played both Nambours ground and my own in the last 2 weeks, I could be excused for thinking I know a little more than you or assjar about the grounds in question. Despite you training 6 times last year, I would suggest your current knowledge, again, is somewhat 2nd hand, as things change alot on 6-12 months mate, mother nature doesnt stand still for old Smy :D

On Carlton, they are some very kind works mate, you obviously dont have alot of carlton supporting friends do you? As I do, I loathe to say anything nice about them ;)
