Tried to do something different, threw up couple of left field selections - currently I can't remember every game so players like boak and franklin unlucky but definitely in my top 30. Didn't worry too much about exact positions of mids and what not.

Just for a few different names

Just realised I inadvertently typed hale when I was thinking minson...I was going through the hawks side to see if I had missed anyone and so just typed the name in my head.

Yeah, I reckon minson played well enough first 2 rounds...

6 locks - Carlisle and Jamison, Cotchin and Watson, Westhoff and Cloke.

Of them 6 I'd say only Westhoff, Watson and Cotchin are locks based on current form. Carlisle, Jamison and Taylor could go either way. I wouldn't call Cloke a lock yet. When he's on he's on but when he isn't he has been pretty poor.

This thread started early on last year so why not now during round five.

It will be interesting to see how the people's teams change during the course of the year

B: Yarran Lonergan Goddard
HB: Birchall Carlisle Hanley
C: Cotchin Watson Cornes
HF: L. Thomas Cloke Westhoff
FF: Rioli Franklin Stokes
R: Cox Selwood Mitchell
INT: Liberatore Pendlebury Boak Deledio

No way.
Goldstein is the pick of the ruckmen at the moment.
Only just, no real standouts.

Ruckmen are the hardest to pick so far IMO. No one has really done anything of note. All about the same.

based on last year, is Bellchambers a chance for the forward pocket role?
Sounds a bit silly, but Cox got it last year kicking 30 odd goals and playing 2nd fiddle to Nic nat in the ruck.

Bellchambers is playing first ruck (very well) and has already kicked 9 goals.

I didn't put him in my team (had dixon in as that 2nd ruck/forward), but as we've seen, selectors think very differently

Certainties from the games ive seen so far

Geelong- Motlop Selwood Taylor

Hawthorn Birchall Franklin Rioli

Nth Melb Thomas

Swans Bolton

Collingwood -Cloke Pendlebury

Pt Adelaide Westhoff Hartlett

Adelaide Dangerfield

Richmond Deledio

Stkilda Reidwoldt

Essendon Watson

Suns Ablett

Carlton Jamieson

Thats 18-Clokey will have to do the ruck work

From a Richmond perspective I would put Deledio in before Cotchin. Not that he has been that much better. Just the AA team needs outside players to and he is probably the best out side player in the game right now (most running bounces and delivery is the best in our team).

Cotchins inside game is like that of many other quality players!

Backpockets : Harbrow, Stratton, Hibberd, B.Goodes, Enright,
Half back flankers - Birchall, A.Walker, Hanley, Douglas, Mackie, Malceski, Goddard, Geary
KPDS: Taylor, Carlisle, Jamison, Scott Thompson, Lonergan

Midfielders - Mitchell, Boak, Cornes, Watson, J.Selwood, K.Jack, Sloane, LibbaJR, Cotchin, Deledio, Pendlebury, GAJ
Rucks- McEvoy, Bellchambers, Cox, Charlie Dixon, Minson, the Q-Stick

Half forwards - Mcveigh, Westhoff, Burgoyne, Wingard, Breust, Fyfe (more a mid)
Forward pockets - Stokes, L.Thomas, Walters, Elliot, Yarran, Rioli
KPF's: Buddy, Cloke, Riewoldt x 2

You could make a good team with these selections.
One thing though is Goddard has played as a midfielder not as a half back flanker so far this season.

Wingard has had a better year than rioli

I agree with that so far but you have to consider that Rioli didn't have the luxury of playing against Melbourne, the Giants and the Suns in his first month. If Wingard keeps up this level of form against the better sides then he is a lock for AA.

Based on the 4 games, Boak is definitely a lock as well.

While Boak has been fantastic, it is a little rich to say he would be a lock at this point. So many good mids it is difficult.

Watson, Ablett, Selwood, Pendles, Deledio, Fyfe, McVeigh, Cornes, Boak, Stanton, Cotchin, Jack, N.Jones, Hartlett, Sloane.... the list goes on. Only about 9 spots should be for midfielders. Boak may well be one of those, just not a lock IMO.

Wouldn't have Libba in right now, too many very good midfielders. Libba has had two unbelievable matches, one terrible match and one match that looks good on paper but wasn't all that good; a lot of midfielders have had four very good performances so far that deserve to be in over him.

Certainly not out of the question by the end of the year, though. We would struggle to get recognition in AA though, being likely bottom four finishers.

Without looking into it much so far coz v early...maybe something like this.

Jamison..Carlisle...Hanley
Birchall...Taylor....Hartlett
Cotchin..Watson..McVeigh
Rioli......Riewoldt..Westhoff
Thomas...Cloke....Wingard

Goldstein...Cornes...Ablett

McEvoy, Selwood, Boak, Goddard

Might have gone a bit Port heavy...maybe Mitchell/Pendle/Swan/Deledio in for Hartlett/Boak based on opposition.

Standouts in the spine any of

KPD's...Carlisle, Jamison, Lonergan, Taylor
Watson a lock to me as C
Riewoldt a lock to me as CHF
Pick your own guy from Cloke/Franklin/ JRiewoldt as a FF

Rucks too close to call yet...Goldstein/McEvoy/Cox/Minson all looking pretty good for it.

Hasselhoff FF.

Until he plays a good team
Maybe yeah, who knows yet. See how he goes this weekend.
Got to look way past coleman standings at this point for the KPF's and just concentrate on positional stuff...a goal or two here and there aint worth shit yet. Riewoldt's been putting on an old school "how to play CHF" clinic and super consistent. Westhoff walks it in right now, but where ??..will need to wait n see more. Whilst the odd big game i havent seen Cloke/Franklin/JReiwoldt or any other KPF truly outstanding in their actual role.

Not too bad by the OP. Lack of second ruck doesnt balance. So i swapped FF for a ruck. Belly's goal difference just pipped Pyke.

Surprised Sidebottom not mentioned as a Half-Forward, had one shocker against Hawks but extremely good in other 4
