Whats outside the forward line got to do with being a better forward? As a push up midfielder Buddy is better the Lloyd. I'm not arguing that. He's got a huge tank and could run Lloyd off his legs.

I'm debating the claim by a bitter North fan that Buddy is a better forward then Lloyd.
He is a better player all round and I'm stating he can play in the midfielder so he can use that to his asvantage as a forward, by like I said put pressure on like a small forward.
Something Lloyd couldn't do.

To simplify, Buddy is the better player than Lloyd then?

Careers

LLoyd...........Buddy
5 x AA vs 4 x AA
3 Coleman vs 2 Coleman
3.4 goals.....3.2 goals
13 disposals...15.1 disposals
6.3 marks....5.3 marks
1.1 tackles....2.6 tackles
97 BL votes...77 BL votes

Given Buddy is 25 and his career averages go up every year, I'd reckon he is 1 more season away from going past Lloyd. Shame other all round player figures can't come into it given the amount of assists and defensive pressure Buddy puts on (though tackles are 2.5 x as much) which for Boncer34 - is definately part of being a forward.

Also Richo >>>>>> Lloyd

Lloyd was better as a full forward but Richo was better all round. Richo had more talent.

I'd argue Lloyd actually had more talent, and Richo was more athletic and, as a result, more versatile.

Lloyd was a much better kick than Richo, and as good, or better on the lead. A super smart full forward.

No doubt these are two player you can debate. Buddy though has them both covered - he is at another level.

Gee we have another stat man. Lloyd kicked more goals than Carey - Lloyd must be better than Carey derp derp derp.

Can you name the year that Lloyd was ever in the best 2 players in the AFL? He was never even the best player at his own club let alone the AFL.

Franklin or Ablett are the only 2 players you could consider for the best player in the AFL. I thought this debate was over a while ago but you keep clinging onto those stats mighty man.:thumbsu:

In 2000 or 2001 he must have been close. Particularly 2001 when Carey was effectively done and Hird had only an average year (by his standards). I certainly cannot think of a player in 2001 who was more valuable to his team. Hyper-efficient forwards tend to be pretty valuable players, even when they are not particularly flashy.

Michael Voss won his club best and fairest in a premiership year as captain in 2001. Not sure you can get any more valuable than that. Maybe the Brownlow where he finished 3rd.

Richos second last season which admittedly was not played at full forward was a blinder in a poor club, only just missed the Brownlow, I doubt either Buddy or Loyd have had a better season as yet in Buddies case, but overall I would agree that Buddy is a better player all round and Loyd is probably a better full forward but Richo was more athletic and versatile.

Buddy's 08 was huge and every bit as good as Richo's 08. Would have been good to see Richo play in a decent team. He must hate his Dad.

Time for a bump.

Two rounds to go. Three guys locked on 60 goals - Roughead, Kennedy and the big surprise packet in Cameron. Cloke not far behind on 58 and is in with a chance if he can kick straight over the next two weeks. Riewoldt isn't far behind either with 56 although I'd be surprised if he plays next week.

Nobody else is in with a chance unless Buddy manages to bag another 13 against North next week.

Who wins it from here?

I'll go with...... Cloke

And Jezza gave up an absolute tap-in goal to Whitfield with around 2mins to go.

Long ball to a pack at the top of the square, Cameron stays down, ball goes over the top and he takes possession uncontested in the square, Whitfield comes streaming past and Cameron obliges with the handball. Unselfish, but you could've had the outright lead young fella!

Going down to the wire this one.

It could've been Jack's but he's too unselfish for his own good. Number 1 in the AFL for goal assists and has given off 11 goals in the last 4 weeks. Here are the numbers:

Roughead: 60 goals, 16 assists
Kennedy: 60 goals, 16 assists
Cameron: 60 goals, 11 assists
Cloke: 58 goals, 6 assists
Riewoldt: 56 goals, 24 assists
Franklin: 51 goals, 9 assists
Thomas: 49 goals, 14 assists
Petrie: 46 goals, 10 assists
Hawkins: 45 goals, 14 assists
N.Riewoldt: 42 goals, 12 assists

Yet Jack is the one that gets singled out as selfish. I hope he plays and kicks an absolute bag against GWS next week. Would love to see 4-5 guys all in the hunt with one week to go, similar to last year.

I also look forward to the winner being dubbed a "bradbury winner" due to their paltry total.
