Won't be as fun as last year as I don't think my sister will be attending :(

Anyway, it's at Yeeronga from 2pm to 6pm on Saturday the 9th of February. Hopefully they'll have the photo booth set up again where you can get your photo with a group of Lions, missed out on one last year with Joelly (although I did get one with him by myself later :D) but I did get one with another group of Lions (who gave me rabbit-ears in retaliation for me doing it to my sister - meanies!).

Anyone else going?

A little rain never hurt anyone lol

(Says the woman who gets weird looks out of cars when she walks home in 35+ degree heat...silly people!)

I'll go if it rains;)

Less than one week to go. Bleh, I wish next weekend would hurry up.

So far the weather looks like 60% chance of rain and 29 degrees. Muggy! Umbrella on standby.

So, for someone who hasn't used public transport for 15 years, any tips on the best place to get on?
Travelling from the northside but plan to drive as far as possible. Should I park and ride somewhere or can I park easily within reasonable walking distance?

I can see why you're such a fan Kezz, Joel seemed a top bloke happy to have a good chinwag.

Unfortunately there was a bit of a line when I went to get my autograph and photo (ugh, I never photograph well) so I didn't get to have a good chat, but yes, he's a lovely bloke and always seems happy to see fans.

Now there's next Friday's dinner at Toowoomba, so hopefully I'll be able to have a chat then. Plus the boss has nicely given me Thursday afternoon for training :)

Daniel Merrett is a love, and Tom Rockliff seems to want to talk everyones ears off. He was the chattiest player I've ever seen!

And Stakes is awesome, for reasons I will divulge once the suprise has been sprung :D

It's a shame my sister wanted to get home before 8pm, I could have stayed for the whole afternoon.

I didn't stay for long, jumper presentation and a bit of a wander to chat and get autographs.

Two things struck me-

Billy Longer is a big unit, a really big unit and he is even bigger up close.

Todd Banfield will be back. I think he is mentally in the right place to return to the top 22. In Green, Zorko and Banfield we have three players for maybe two roles. Last year i thought todd was not ready to fight for his place this year i think he is, and it will make all three better.

A great day once again. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Looked to be a bigger crowd than last year too. Hopefully
some more people signed up for memberships. And Simon Black is the nicest guy in football.:hearts:

Cutting edge stuff from the Membership department ...peptides give a ways in the Lions pencil-case?..:D

I took my 6yo son and he really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, we couldn't stay for long due to other plans.

He wasn't really interested in the players so we didn't bother with photos/autographs but there was heaps for the kids - jumping castles, footy games etc. The highlight was the Courier Mail blimp flying around and dropping free stuff - it became a bit of a bloodbath but was fun to watch!

Credit to the club for a great event. I caught up with some other parents last night and told them about it. They were filthy to have missed it and have asked me to let them know when it is on next year.

I didn't see the jumper presentations but I did hear that when Voss was asked whether he could give a hint about the co-captains, he replied "Yep - one of them will be Browny!"

I don't remember seeing Goose either...

Anyway, my mother is one happy woman. Unfortunately she couldn't make it yesterday, so my sister (who could attend after all, yay!) and I decided to buy her a flag for her desk and get it signed up. The two signatures we were really after were Stakes (her favourite) and Moose (her sponsored player). So we're at the signing booth, and we finally get to Stakes and we ask him if he could just sign it "To the Best Mum Ever". Instead, we got: "To the Best Mum eva, Go Lions 2013, kisses".

Cheeky boy, but it certainly made Mum's day! :D I really think we have the loveliest players in the comp.

My first time and I took my 2 year old.
She wanted to go on the Jumping castle a lot.
Was a great day.

You sir, are a natural writer/story-teller where can I find more? ;)

With age, one learns not to jump to conclusions but…

I read from history in early March 1936 –
Zeppelin spent the next few days broadcasting music and pro-Hitler announcements from specially-installed loudspeakers, and dropping swastikas attached to tiny parachutes and propaganda leaflets encouraging Germans to vote “Yes!”

I’m sure if it were to be anything more than coincidence John would have posted by now.
