AFLW 2024 - Round 10 - Chat, game threads, injury lists, team lineups and more.
32. Marcus Bontempelli If we miss out on Bontempelli @32 because of Hampson - I will be extremely pissed off
Read snoops phantom yet??
Dumont quite high and Dunstan and Acres falling a long way.
Knightmare has Sharenberg coming to Richmond #12 - How good would that be !
Are they doing 10-1 draftees first?
It's a definite chance, if things fall our way.
To me, it would be a dream. Rate him very high.
People's thoughts on Ben Sokol?
Very strong overhead and knows where to lead, uses the ball well but no standout and works hard defensively. So he has the right tool to make it, will be matter of whether he can translate them to AFL level and develop more consistency as from what I've seen of him he pops up in games and doesn't constantly impact them.
Each year I have player who deserves more attention with Mitch Duncan and Zaharakis being players in the past I have rated higher then their eventual draft position and this year Sokol is that player. Hoping he last to pick 50.
alex forster... does anyone know anything about the ex freo defender? Pretty high draft pick, only 2 years on a list... rookie list or take late in the draft?
So, only 16 kids you rate higher than/better than Hampson. Resonates with the word coming out of the club, that they rated Hampson above any prospect they'd likely get out of the draft at pick 32. I think those with inflated expectations of the impact of a second round draft pick, in such a thin draft, should take note!16. Eli Templeton
(Little batch of personal favorites that we can do better at pick 12 but I would be disappointed if they were available at pick 32. I.e. Hampson fits in between Templeton and Hourigan for me)
17. Darcy Hourigan

Totally Off Topic and i just came across this incase other like me have missed it
I can't see Scharenberg getting through to us. He looks like he would be a really nice fit for a side who wants a solid, skillful and attacking utility. I think he will be very similar to Goddard as he looks to read the play best behind the ball but can pinch hit in other areas. Would love to have him rotating with Deledio back flank/midfield type role. I can see him going to the Dogs at pick 4 as they need quality ball users and have plenty of inside mids.
With GWS and the Saints taking Kelly and Aish. Everyone thinks KK will go to the GC at 5. Pies are apparently keen on Lennon at 6. Lions need midfielders - and I think they could be the wild card because they will have been burnt from this years exodus and will most likely prioritise character - i'm thinking Freeman or Salem on football ability but perhaps Sheed could come into it for his leaderhip ability. Roos have McDonald locked in. Pies will be laughing getting Billings at 10 - nice replacement for Daisy. WC seemingly have Sheed locked in and that leaves us with one of Acres, Bontempelli, Dunstan, Dumont, Taylor or Hartung to pick from. Of that lot I would be calling out Acres name I think at this stage. Again I can see Acres rotating with Lids on a half back flank before becoming a full time midfielder who can rotate forward or back.
Having looked at our list again I don't think we need Dunstan. Vlastuin should step into the midfield and develop as a centreman. Cotch, Vlastuin, Jackson, Conca as the inside men isn't bad. Lids and Dusty are our outside line breakers and Ellis our gut runner. I still think Foley has a role to play over the next season or two.
Although I think Acres could be the best, most versatileand well rounded, addition I also think we are in a position where we can take a player to develop. Our best 22, when we have a list to choose from, is pretty good which means we can develop a player. Bontempelli could be the dark horse - a season playing twos and hitting the gym coud give us a weapon on the wing going forward.
Pick 4 (Dogs), if I've understood correctly.Wait so who do you have Scharenberg going to? It's almost certain that Billings will go to Saints at 3!
