I have $52,300 in the bank. Thoughts?
 
Everyone seems set on starting vlastuin....Am I the only one who thinks he will cop the vest at some stage on Thursday night? If anything I would wait to see what his output is after the first two games and then pick him up if he is looking the goods, or sit him on your bench if you feel you can have 147k sitting there....

He's on my bench at the moment and is the first candidate for a downgrade if i need too prior to the lockout.

I think he will be safe from the red vest if he's given a job on one of our small forwards and doesn't get towelled up. I've got him as Def emergency ATM. If he scores well, I'll start Colq (if he's not named) and collect the points. If Vlas really spuds it up, will trade out for cheaper rook that kills it in Rd1 and profit.
 
Ok, let me throw this one at ya then. Given a choice between Stringer and Vlastuin for round one, both are named, stringer 18k more expensive but arguably has the easier opponent. Who do you pick and WHY?

Stringer because he's a gun! 140 DT points per 100 minutes played in the NAB cup :p (Only 14 minutes)

Stringer because i already have four options i prefer over Vlastuin for the 3 on field spots i have for DEF rookies
Whereas Stringer would be 50/50 to play on the field against Caff for mine.
 
My thoughts exactly, currently tossing up whether to start stringer or caff, leaning towards stringer due to opponent but worried about the vest mmm decisions

If Stringer plays and doesn't get the vest he'll be straight onto my field, however I do have my doubts about his debut being round 1. I reckon we'll play four debutants: Lower, Stevens, Goodes and Young, with the possibility of a fifth in Macrae, Hrovat or Stringer. Hrovat and Macrae in front of Jake in my opinion. As I've said though, Landsberger is generally pretty spot on. Got no idea.

That "non midfielder'' is also impressing, with backman Tom Young a chance to make his Dogs debut after nine games with the Magpies.
McCartney said three of Young and the club's other mature-age recruits - Brett Goodes, Nick Lower and Koby Stevens - would play after impressing in the NAB Cup.

That's interesting...has to be Lower, Stevens and Goodes. Would probably mean that we're planning on playing either Dylan Addison or Lukas Markovic, though, who have seemed to be very much out of favour this pre-season (Addison = 0.5 games, Markovic was the sub in our "full strength dress rehearsal for round 1" and was given only 15 minutes in the forward line rather than defense...it's an interesting one.

No...unless I misread he said 3 in total. Young + 2 out of Goodes, Lower & Stevens.

Goodes better not be the one to miss out! :mad:

Nah, you misread - he means three out of Young, Goodes, Stevens and Lower will play; the wording of the article is stupid but it doesn't mean Young's a lock, just that he's in the mix as well.

Goodes will play every game this season unless overtaken by Pearce (very unlikely this year and will be out of your team by the time he does anyway) or injured.
