I don't like Ball or Fyfe in the midfield. Ball is definitely a value-for-money pick, but once you get over 300k, you're probably looking for a keeper (as you will make a lot more money - and much more quickly - with a sub-150k player). Ball's ceiling is probably a 90-95 average I reckon and that's just not good enough to justify a spot in the midfield by the end of the season, where 110 averages are what you're looking for.

Fyfe is great as a forward. As a midfielder? Not convinced at this stage that he will pump out the 110+ average that you need. Still, it's not out of the question and he could be a potential early upgrade target if he comes out firing.

I'm not sure about LeCras, Varcoe and Macaffer in the same forwardline. All picks have their merit (LeCras and Varcoe as potential keepers and Macaffer as a dirt cheap player who could easily increase 250-300k in value if he stays injury-free), but you're really rolling the dice, having all three. I reckon one needs to be chopped (probably Varcoe/LeCras, as you're looking for the same thing out of them).

Anything wrong with Mitchell? I want to know why a lot of people are picking Kavanagh.

Mitchell ahead of Kavanagh is a no brainer imo, would pick Wines ahead of both at this stage, Mitchell needs to get elevated first. Would still pick Wines if that was the case anyway.

do port have space to elevate a rookie straight up?

Mine is pretty crap at the moment, because I'm basing my team on the hope that these players bounce back from their injuries/take it to another level, so don't bother telling me it's shit because I know it.

Midfielders: Pendlebury, Beams, Pearce, Hannebery, Duncan, Caddy, Ball, O'Meara (Hrovat, Viney)

Forwards: Clark, Cloke, LeCras, Cameron, Kennedy, Varcoe (Spangher, Bourke)

Remaining $ = $3000

This is my first draft what do use think ?

I'm staying away from Kavanagh...low chances of playing more than half the games, think there is more value. I only went with Van Enun because there will be chances if Hardingham and Hibberd don't improve their disposal. If enough people give me solid arguments against Mitchell I might go with Brad Couch. I've heard one person say Mitchell will be this years Barlow.

There is your answer right there bud.

As an Essendon supporter I personally don't think Kavanagh will be in the team come round 1, and if so, probably no more than as a sub. A lot of guys ahead of Kav. I would be looking for him to be making a run at a consistent seniors spot by years end.

And now for something completely different. ;)

First crack at it,crust trying to get a team on paper before adjusting it. Any glaring omissions or inclusions I should think twice about?

Man im struggling to put together a decent team with 10 mids even the 3rd tier (450k to 550k) eats up most of the salary cap. I guess its good because there will be a lot more variety in the teams selected, but I am not impressed by my team.

you going 5 and 5 for mids?

my current mids are

Ablett, Cotchin, Swan, Pendles, Zorko, Crouch, O'Meara, Goodes, Viney, Wines

Yep, don't go Rioli. Can score 100+ but just isn't consistent enough in terms of supercoach points.

I'm backing Yazza in myself. Biased Carlton fan, but he'll have a bit more opportunity this year with more midfield time, and less Gibbs in the back hogging all of the soft possessions. Definitely undervalued....

Def: Goddard, Gibbs, Heppell, Yarran, Vlastuin, Staker (Terlich, Colquhoun)
Mid: Pendles, Cotchin, Murphy, Sloane, Fyfe, Crouch, O'Meara, Viney (B Goodes, Wines)
Ruck: Cox, Leunberger (Currie, Grundy)
For: Buddy, T Walker, Rockliff, Varcoe, Roughead, Macaffer (Daniher, Kerridge)

Rate please, I have $233 left, looking to trash one of these players and upgrade, ideas?
Thanks!
