And is this any different to the sort of stuff UQ cop?? Might be a bitter pill to swallow Morro but its a fair point Sweetie has made isn't it?? Even if you run out with 20 players - I'm sure rotations aren't that big a deal in Div 3 (in fact reckon they are overrated in Div 1!!)

I haven't had a go at UQ, in fact I've defended them on more than 1 occasion.

The facts are, that almost if not every team in div 3 has had to / chosen to, permit a player from a higher div as some stage this season. A lack of numbers is just one reason for it. It seems to be the all the posters not associated with div 3 who have the most sand in their lady parts over it.

You might want to check ya facts p pop. I know of 2 blokes from your div 1 sides that played today. The team sheets don't lie

Who?

There were a couple of boys who played today who have played a few games up in Div 1 this year. They're all 3's players though who only went up to fill injury holes.

Pretty obvious that was the reason mate, u guys seem to be drawing the ire of everyone atm, why?

Maybe it's that tall poppy thing. 10 points clear on top some ppl will do anything to bring them down instead of looking for ways to improve to get to their level. I suppose it's easier that way.

The point is, we played 1 player who's played a handful of games (5-6 i think mainly reserves) and is no superstar but a nice bloke.

Problem was when we got to the selections our Ruckman said if the game was in Caboolture, he was out. As did 2 other regular seniors. Had he been a small bloke we could've filled his spot with ANOTHER Ressies player. Our reserves ruckman had to leave at 2pm to make it to his girlfriends 21st in Surfers Paradise by 4pm (to which he was late).

So one of the boys suggested his mate could use the run (again not a superstar, just tall and needing a run).

Why should we have to play short in the reserves because Moorooka pulled the Caboolture bull shit? Why should we force a double up and be disadvantaged? If the game was in Brisbane we were fine for numbers. In the end, we played 2 Ressies in the Seniors and every Ressies player got a run.

We had no sheep stations on the line, just weren't going to let Moorooka's sneaky little plan disadvantage us! Which I believe is fair enough.

Hearty debate, and I believe there could be loopholes in the system that could be abused. Perhaps a cap on how many permits a team can use in one day/year? Is there a maximum? Would hate to see a club full of Div 1 players running around in Div 3.

Now stepping a side from the debate I think we've all missed the news of the day.

On a weekend that was extremely important to them, Calamvale had a well deserved win!! Nearly got the 8 points too!
Good on those boys who bust their arse week in week out to get 2 sides on. No whinging. No sneaky plans for 2 points or disadvantaging anyone. Just hard work from the top down.

Spirited group of players who show as much, if not more, pride in their jumper than anyone.

I thought we had already agreed to disagree on this one and move on?

Coomera has moved on from the UQ scenario so lets all just get along ;)

That was a reference to Griffith mate. It was of someone else's opinion (of some authority) that they wanted us to refuse to play and thus give them 2 points instead of 0. I don't believe UQ only wanted 2 points at all. You wanted 4 like we did. Quite moved on now, until the next team wants to change something.

Morro & KP can you confirm we will be playing Beenleigh, on a Saturday, at Beenleigh?!

I reckon permits are shit if ya using em to win games. if your using em to fill spots cause of injuries or wat Eva I guess thats the point of havin em?
I reckon if youve got more than 2 in the one side your prob bein shadey. So it looks like griffeths plan backfired on em? had to drive a long way to get beat. not worth the petty money is it.

What's the value of making finals with players on permits then getting smacked because no permits are allowed come finals just doesn't make sense.

Playing a Mayne player and wanting the game played at Mayne, how many Mayne players didnt want to travel and missed out on a run. Seems your ruckman was never going to play and you had it sorted prior to going to Caboolture, thats just your justification.

Our coach knows the president of Mayne as he used to play there. We also made contact with Wynuum, and looked into our ground. All we asked for was the game in Brisbane and we tried to make it happen. Remember it wasn't us who asked the game to be moved.

Good theory though, however incorrect. Fairly confused why we would fill our side full of Mayne players to play 5th spot? I would give your theory more credibility had we had a more invested interest to do so.

Unfortunately for you on this occasion your name is accurate.

You obviously have trouble comprehending what you read. As stated in post the seniors ruck pulled out on selection nite which at most clubs is on thursday after training. At which time they organized a replacement as 2's ruck was not available. Hope this helps clear up your misunderstanding.

Morro - thanks for reply - I heard yesterday they may have been injured and Pbc requested a game but not good mail obviously!!

Swooper - aflq has always charged for finals - at what stage the final is depends on cost. First weekend is usually about a grand +. Hence y u want to have a secure fence to ensure u get $5 off everyone and often the beers go up a dollar as well!! Would suggest some clubs have often lost money to have home ground advantage.

Yeah I guess you run that risk! Hoping all games are played on the Saturday. Does that fall down to whoever pays for the final and when their ground is available? Eg Alex Hills pays/offers to host Div 3 GF but ground isn't available on the Saturday so it's Sunday?

Gf is an interesting one - again only what I understand....

A club has to apply to host the gf - cost is more then normal final - about double.

But I believe the club who wins the second semi has the right to put in a preference to location - eg - hence why maroochy have hosted the cpl noosa won through too in Phc.

Not sure if thats the process for div 2/3 seeing Wynnum and zillmere have hosted last 2 years div 2/3 gf's I think. Clubs have to meet certain criteria regarding perimeter fencing, number of change rooms, conditions of rsa etc.

With the change to div 2/3 fixtures I believe no reason gf's wouldn't b played on Saturdays (makes sense to maximise bar $$$).

Could be completely wrong but that's my understanding of it
