It wasn't due to Juniors. We were asked about Caboolture Thursday arvo and asked for a Brisbane ground to save the travel for our guys. We identified several Brisbane grounds as options but long story short, it's at Caboolture....

Hey mate, with the Div 2 bye I would've thought Wynnum, Alex Hills, Cooparoo, Kenmore etc would've had a spare ground..... Anyway, I assume the game will be at Caboolture's brand new facility?

We had spoken to both Mayne and Wynuum. Both approved games on their ground. Mayne couldn't put on a canteen I believe.

The game is not at the new facility. Its at Alexander Barr oval.

Moorooka were set on it being at Caboolture so rules are its up to them in the end. We just asked for a fair go.

Hopefully a good day regardless. Just be interested in what the reason behind Caboolture is? Wouldn't think it would be anyone's first choice. Not having a crack, just seriously seems odd.

So what has AFLQ got against Coomera seems every time a decision is made Coomera gets shafted

If the ground is closed where are you going to play. Or are Moorooka after a draw as well

Would have to say that the ground is available. Just adds an extra question mark over the decision but we just have to go with the flow.

Would've been nice to play on the new facility though. From memory that Caboolture ground holds the water pretty well and will not be pretty!

I would have thought a canteen would be a good reason to have it at a ground where one was available.
I know there are UNI games on so thats probs why they arent at griffith and hasnt moorookas oval just been turfed? I am sure it isnt the only oval they rang about , but maybe the one that suited them the best, and obviously they cared enough to get the game played and gave Coomera plenty of notice if Coomera were able to contact all those clubs. maybe they gave you a fair go Swoop, you did say they offered your ground first.

Thanks mate. Wow, hopefully just a delay in having it updated.

Will be interesting to see what condition the ground is in. By all reports Mayne and Wynuum are looking a treat!
Our guys played at Wynnum last Saturday and the reports I got were all saying "the ground was the best they had seen it"
Anyway regardless of venue, at least the boys will get a run this week

Yeah like I said they contacted us Thursday afternoon and were honest about their field availability. They had already settled on Caboolture as the back up ground. I made it clear we would prefer a brisbane ground or our ground and spoke with AFLQ who agreed Coomera or Brisbane was preferable.

We identified our ground was not available, but discovered Mayne and Wynuum (we didn't have to look but we did). I let them know about Mayne but again they wanted Caboolture. We tried to get it to Brisbane to work with players and volunteers commitments. We now have 3 of our main volunteers, and some players not able to make it.

I understand things happen, but this again has caused alot of unnecessary stress. Look to be clear, we appreciate that they contacted us and that the game is going ahead. We just believe that common sense would have the game played locally or at least as close as possible.

Sounds like the roosters have intentionally chosen the furthest ground they could

Should make for a pretty hollow victory if they do get up knowing you guys couldn't field your best team simply due to the travel. It's certainly not lost on me that a loss this weekend for the Roosters will make a top 4 finish very hard.

Caboolture is 50 minutes further than Moorooka. Not like its in a other state. Coomera certainly have had a few reasons to complain this year, but geez they complain well.

Harsh call. No other team has been stuffed around more. They basically have to travel twice as far. They have certainly drawn the short straw.

Yes, another 50minutes. Another hour guys have to get off work, or leave their family commitments. We have a club who have junior commitments too. Plus those who had commitments after the game!

We may just move the remainder of our games to Coolangatta. Put yourself in our shoes. Get YOUR volunteers to drive an extra 2 hours to help out.

Are you Jim Henson? Cause you sir are a dead set muppet!
