McEvoy being picked for the Hawks also allows us to play Hale forward more, creating more matchup headaches for the Swans. His endurance is far greater than Ceglar's, and his contested marking in the last quarter is sure to be an asset.

I have calmed down since then BUT if Hawthorn lose my original point stands, Hawthorn will have screwed it up at the selection table.

If we lose it ain't going to be because of Cyril unless he injures himself early on.....We all know Cyrill is not a high possession player, he's a 10 to 15 possie player......its not about what he does with the ball, its about what he does when he doesn't have the ball, a tackle a knock on, a contested situation that creates an error. The perceived pressure he puts on opposition defenders.
Regarding Ceglar, he played himself out of the team last week with a woeful performance.....Clarkson had no choice.

People are forgetting that the Hawks were lucky to beat Port Adelaide, very lucky. This premiership belongs to the Swans, and it's theirs to lose.
Are you forgetting that their luck from the prelim and last years grand final are two of the three umpires for tomorrow?

Port Adelaide would have pushed ANY side to the brink of defeat with the form they were carrying, in fact they made mince meat out of Fremantle the previous week. And don't forget they were giving Sydney a run for their money in recent weeks as well (accuracy being the difference between a close win, close loss or in their last match an easy victory for Sydney). Hawthorn dodged a bullet because of Port Adelaide's inaccuracy.

I think the Umpires will be siding with the media and will be awarding Sydney free kicks out of nowhere in order to ensure a Sydney victory.

I don't think many teams would have held on against Port's 4th quarter onslaught.

Similar run in to 2013. Us Hawk's supporters were given a heart attack in the Prelim last year too while our opposition had to play around some witches-hats and got all the attention leading into the GF.

havent bothered to read the 'probably' biased tripe in the thread.

most know I call it as it is and don't fall back on club allegiance like most fanbois

my prediction is it won't be anything like 2012. i feel as though the swans are going to annihilate the hawks tomorrow. it's been a brave journey by hawthorn but i think this will be a bridge too far for them.

in saying that, if the Hawks get up tomorrow, then there should be robust debate and argument regarding the Hawks 2013-14 sides as one of the greatest premiership teams in the history of VFL/AFL football. They'd be top 5, no question on my part.

**** me the ground looks a treat.

Some F***WIT threw razor blades all over Waverley Park yesterday before the Hawks final training session. I'm not against the whole prank calling the team hotel at 4am or the odd over the fence sledge but this is the kind of shit that happens in the 3rd world. Absolutely disgraceful for whoever's responsible
There was one and it was snapped in half. Relax.

Home ground advantage > surface altho this is the standard ANZ should stride for especially for a final series.

Yeah that's what i was going with, the MCG surface can't be beaten. Playing on hte ANZ surface you wouldn't get the high quality match that the grand final deserves to be. Would be the same train wreck if it were held at the Docklands/Etihad Stadium for some reason.

How was the parade?
