I know talk of GWS wanting Petracca but with Boyd walking out the door and GWS needing to repalce him, shouldn't they be hanging onto pick 4 knowing one of McCartin/Wright will fall to them? Then they would use pick 7 to get their hands on Griffen.

If you watch and listen to Bains on the video about trading Rhys, he seems pretty content with picks 1,21 & 22. I think this combo would be the most likely we will go to the draft with, AS OF THIS VERY MOMENT.

So if the Pelican has said that we have knocked back 2 offers for the no.1 pick today, i am guessing that any clubs wanting it between now and 2PM tomorrow will need to really throw something extraordinary at us.

I don't put too much stock in combine results to be honest. Granted they were exceptional but it's not where football is played.

So he kicks 35 goals in 10 games in a bottom half side - but that doesn't count cos it's against poor sides - then slays the Combine - but that doesn't count cos it's not where footys played?

Hard to please some.

Will start by saying I have absolutely no information regarding a potential move like this and am purely putting it forward to see what you guys reckon:

Picks 21 and 22 for around pick 10.

Pick 1 for 4 and 7.

Leaves us with 4, 7, and 10 or so.

Would you guys do it? Obviously we would then not only have 3 top 20 picks, but 3 top 10 picks. My only concern would be who we get at 4, and would they be a significant downgrade on Petracca.

You're probably right, I am being quite picky but there's a good reason for that. It's just when drafting a number one key forward to replace roo I want a genuine gun and not to skimp on that selection. I want a well rounded player with few question marks. History says the best forwards go top 10 ( buddy,roughead, riewoldt etc) and that a really high selection is needed to get the top quality forwards with the hit rate being significantly lower the longer the draft goes on. We have lee, White and now membrey to develop on to those secondary roles.

Don't think Brian means that we'll take him with #1 here. Pelchen did go on radio saying that other clubs are working on deals to get more picks to trade up for Pick 1, so I think we could see the Saints trade down and snare Paddy.

'That they have now or that they could acquire' means that it sounds to me like we're talking about GWS 3 and 7 and we've rejected that.
