Anyone pointed out that our round 1 match is at 4:50pm on a Friday? Why the hell would they schedule a Perth team for a Friday away game when it's still daylight savings in the east? Half the city won't get home to watch it in time.

interesting that, in 2011 we started away and finished away, thats why i made it STH AUS in the last round, only 1.5 hours by plane, only 3 thee and back for hopefully a SUCCESSFUL 2014 FINALS!

Why the **** would Collingwood play at a ground they haven't hosted in nearly 10 years? Will the MCG be under refurbishment or something?

MCG is booked for Cricket until April roughly, so with an earlier start to the year it is not available.

MCG is unavailble due to the cricket for the first 2 weeks. Other clubs are missing out on the oppurtunity to play there so it not just us that are missing out.
So be it.
We move on, bank the 4 points and hope we get our 2 games at the MCG towards the end of the season closer to the experience required in September...
Well there you go. None the less it looks like we're going to be short of games the G again. Hawthorn, Richmond and Essendon are the only worthy teams to play their now, and it's tough to see us getting all 3 or even 2/3.

yeah it's still got a few little problems that i will fix today!
Usually the Darwin game is scheduled before a bye.
We will never play Essendon at the G (unless it is a Grand Final) as Etihad is their home ground.
Hard to know whether playing Collingwood at Etihad works in our favour or not.
A few seasons ago I would have said yes as they would be playing away from the G which is clearly their home ground advantage.
Now I think we are still good enough to beat them at the G so my feeling is would rather take the extra game at the G for experience over any perceived advantage to them.

More night games mean more 2:40 a.m. and 3:40 a.m. starts US Pacific Time...looks like lots of hibernation nights to prepare. Good thing is, nearby Hank's Pizza is open til 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights here. Otherwise, I see several games starting in the wee hours Friday morning, so I'll be going straight to work after those games end.
Our effort in sending the B team against St Kilda this year really irked Vlad.
Our punishment, being sent to Skilled backfired on him so any possible situation to inflict more inconvenience on us will be seized upon. A couple already(Darwin game, Collingwood @ Etihad instead of G)
I expect Sydney at the SCG Geelong @ Skilled again, maybe Canberra or Tassie also.
You have to wonder whether any other team making the previous years Grand Final would get the same fixtures we may get.
