Sorry but just couldn't resist laying into the 'highly awarded' Channel 7 News Perth:

Tanner forward was something which would never have occurred to me but by crikey it looked such a natural posi for him.
I remember when he was recruited it said a bit in his bio about being able to swing forward, I remember thinking at the end of last season that he was a player that could perhaps try a shift forward and it's nice to see the coaches trying it out. At 196cm and 95kg he's the right size for a KPP and even if it doesn't work out, adding some flexibility to his game will do no harm.

Yip I remember the same article or another saying the same thing now you mention it.
Then as a renowned simpleton I forgot that and looked at him exclusively as a shut down defender who needed to improve his backline kicking to survive.
Today the bugger was taking beautifully timed grabs and banging them through from decent distance. Not to mention looking a bit stroppy confident!
Honestly it's a healthy, balanced, talented looking list.Maybe a year or so out of perfectly timed.
Our efforts to land ready made KPF's from free agency,or plans to draft and develop reasonably high picks have come adrift by fractions.
But the club has also enacted its back up with scholarship, international, rookie etc and couldn't do bugger all about the new virgin franchises, groomed by old AFL pimps, being given every conceivable and inconceivable concession.
We're strong and pumping iron.

And he
Just plain lazy salim.

No was happy simply to do a drive by today before catching up with some old Freo mates for a snack and then back to check out the rehabbers.

Was gonna come over but got chatting to the groundsman and wandered round reminiscing about when I watched the Bullies in the 70's.
Us country folk are slow moving and prone to nostalgia.I soaked a few gallons of it up today.
Will do next time.
PS:I reckon the captaincy is gonna be good for the club and good for Mundy and Pav...Dave's a champ as we know but I can see him growing as skipper..launch the SuperBarra..:D
Barra is from Seymour in Victoria so he is a good old country boy.

I only stayed for the first half of the session, unfortunately I'm neither retired or unemployed. ;)
Fyfe moved freely and his evasive skills have certainly not deserted him, he looked pretty good for his first contact session although he did get tackled frequently.
It was such a relief to see all the boys wearing their regular numbers, it made it so much easier to make them out. I gotta say the number 15 suits Hughesy.
Prior to the match sims I heard RTB congratulating both Tabs and Sam for their efforts in the contested marking drill. Sam looked pretty good, I can't wait to see him play.
Once you see Tanner up forward, it seems like the obvious half of the ground for him. He's too much of a liability down back with his suspect disposal IMO but as a forward he looks good. Hurley complained to Suma regarding some soreness after the contested marking stuff and I noticed him running laps when the match sim started.
I wish I could have watched all the session but from what I did see, the second year players seem to be coming along nicely. Hopefully at least one of them can push up into the firsts.

Could Tanner Smiths agresiveness and Mongrel work out as a forward Maybe?

Yep Hurley was involved early on in some drills as I remember being very impressed with his precision ball drop and kicking mechanics. He's got that bit under control. Then he pumped out the laps.
Yarran definitely looks the goods as watchers particularly Fred have noted.
Pav is obviously getting parcels from Dank salim malik because as you say he's plainly reversed the aging process.
Overall an impressive session and it was the best I've seen Weller perform.Tanner forward was something which would never have occurred to me but by crikey it looked such a natural posi for him.
From our history of bringing blokes straight back in after longish layoffs I'm not concerned with Bennell. As was mentioned he's tonking effortless 40m pinpoint passes off either foot and moving freely.Maybe something like Tayl0r suggested in retraining his biomechanics.
Whatever that anti gravity device cost,it's worth its weight.
Nyhuis and Uber look good future prospects and Collins will play NAB and we'll make further assessments.I'd say he's a plug and player.
Very tight solid bunch of boys out there today.
Love that list management shit.

Lets be serious - WHO would we like Tanner or Tabs in forward line?

bit of a delayed training report from yesterday.

overall i thought the skills were pretty messy, heaps of missed kicks and targets, i was sitting on the scoreboard side and stone/guerra were standing behind me and were also not impressed with the entry into 50.

in saying that i only went down to have a look for one reason. anthony morabito. salim has been pumping him up all pre season and i needed to see it with my own eyes. all i can say is that salim is not exaggerating. mora looks the goods. hes strong and seems very confident with his body. i hope he gets elevated because he will add another dimension to our side.

You always will be compared with kids in your batch !!! Don't we do it with our own kids and others in their class !!!
Good hairdo good looks and good body that doesn't get you a game but maybe in Malaysia that is so.

Ha-ha Danny if he ever come to Malaysia the first thing I do is bring him to a small village and give him a soldier style cut.
