That's similar with what happened with us. Pearson was replaced with Sousa (which crafted the way for Rodgers' rise), and than Sousa was replaced with Sven. We finally got Pearson back, and the Thais have been staunch in their support.

I can only hope that your Thai is more in the Leicester mould, than the Man City mould.

Given the circumstances, what would be the expectation for the new season?

In all honesty, i never have expectations for us anymore haha one year we can look like we push for promotion, and we bomb out after christmas. Chansiri, the new owner, says he's trying to get us into the Premier League by 2017, but we havent signed a single player yet and released 11. So i guess id just have to wait to see how we hit the transfer market. I think another mid table finish probably! Anything but relegation and I'm usually happy

That's, oh dear... I feel for you.

2017-18 season? So promotion in two seasons. I guess that's reasonable. Of course, you've released 11, and yet to sign. Of course, I take it you're waiting for the manager to arrive first, which looks like a mate of Jose's, Carlos Carvalhal: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...-Thai-owners-sought-advice-Jose-Mourinho.html

Last management job: Istanbul BB in 2012... who had resigned 3 months into the job, taking the team to 15th in November. They eventually got relegated (It's OK, they were 4th last season.)

He's only coached in Portugal and Turkey... So... name wise, not exactly big. But hey, he's a mate of Jose's, so he must have something... right? (Outside of being fellow countrymen, I can't see any other connections other than the two played around the same time.)

OK, this is a very huge gamble. But fortune favours the brave, right? Let's just see the progress in the next month or so, and see what the team looks like then.

On the bright side, at least you have a good opportunity to finish as the best Yorkshire team?

Any 3 of Blackburn, Cardiff, Hull, Boro, Preston and Rotherham to come up and I'd be chuffed.

As to who I want to go down, I wouldn't shed many tears for MK Dons (thanks to Fryer's insights in the owner's thread), maybe Brighton - purely because under Poyet they were our nemesis lol and maybe Bolton (indifferent towards).

If Preston had done their job, every chance Dons wouldn't even be there.

That being said ... Karma will get me.

Fixtures are released in an hour lads! Who is everyone hoping for on opening day?

Personally I'd love to play TWS straight off the bat.

Huddersfield Town first up! Not too shabby.

Leeds in December, reckon I'll fly over for that and a few other games.

That post made me respect them for what they're doing in the community.

Derby looking strong, Weimann is a ridiculous signing for them! Add him to Bent and they must be favourites to go up at this stage.

QPR also building a fairly decent squad, they'd be hoping to bounce right back.

Yeah, it seemed as if they had at least made some efforts to undo some of the negativity that surrounded the club when they first entered the fray. The stuff they are doing off field too was pretty impressive and their academy seems to be one of the better run too (at least at that level). They seem (for the most part) a well run club.

Yeah Weimann is a great addition for them - plus they were keen on getting Ince weren't they? Would give Bent and Weimann plenty of service you'd feel. If they can hang onto Hughes too...

With a highly rated manager like Clement at the helm, they could be a real force this coming season.

Still think you're favourites. Your overall squad strength should still be better than there's.

Quinn, McShane and Rosenior out from our promotion squad, Diame injured for the start of the season and will then likely want out, Livermore pretty much gone, N'Doye, Jela and Hernandez all likely gone. We have to bring in players before I can judge how we'll do. Derby have already brought in players.

Every time Derby are talked up they trip over ...

They certainly have an incredibly impressive squad now. Add Ince on top and they would just about walk the division.

Have the fixtures been released for the Championship yet? Hull v Derby could be a game!

Same time as the PL fixtures. Can't remember when we play them off the top of my head.

According to the fixtures on the link roo2macca posted, looks like you host them late November (28th).

Given some of the changes your squad will probably experience during the transfer window, might give you guys some time to have the new team/signings all settle in and comfortably playing together.

Similarly for Derby, while they have an impressive team on paper - expectation can definitely stifle teams and prevent them from living up to the hype. Will be interesting to see how they handle it when the season kicks off!

We also get Thorne back & Baird will give us some desperately needed experience.
In a way Im hoping we dont get Ince because the expectations would be unbearable.
