Not sure about this. This is a people's choice award, you stipulated in the OP that attention whores should be ignored, after that it's up to the Bay who they think is the best match. Maybe the mods could do their own FOTY, like the Toots is the mods version of the POTY?

It was decided (unanimously) DVB wants it too badly - classic attention whore behaviour. He would revel in the title should he win, then you'd all be complaining. He'd wear it as a badge of honour, so to speak.

FOTY is about flogs who don't realise the extent of their own floggery, and are desperate to avoid winning it.
