GWS love to switch the footy across their backline, lots of Shaw marks and kicks in this game style.
its making my choice between him and Hibberd that much more difficult.
although i cant imagine that the likes of Shaw, Higgins and Labamba will be given this much freedom when the real stuff starts.

JPK 8 less possessions yet only 6 points less than Parker. JPK is the safer pick.

Not everyone wants to spend the extra 30K. And I cant see Parker running under 60% DE for the year.

somebody please tell me again why Heeney won't play rd 1?

He probably will, but Swans are notorious for dropping rookies and letting them develop. Heeney may be different, but Swans rookies have rarely been good value in the past.

He turned down our offer to stay for less money at Geelong I believe.
We couldn't entice a FA to save ourselves with McCartney at the helm, not enough promise of good times in the short term. A few more performances like last night though and that might change soon enough. Just preseason and all that though.

Rumours of some other reasons but lets move on ftm

How good is Heeney

Locked rd1

Will a 100 average be enough as a forward in 2015??

Remember, you're not chasing an average, you're chasing the top 6 defenders, top 8 mids, top 2 ruckman and top 6 forwards.

Will the following finish higher than Swan at years end?

Gray
Harvey
Deledio
Bartel
Goddard
Buddy
Dusty

Chuck Zorko, Bonts, Bennell, Ziebell, Smith and Dahlhaus in the mix too.

Swan should be selected as a stepping stone IMO, not as a season long keeper, unless you think he'll end up in the top six. Looking at the list above, I doubt he will.

Spot on

Heeney has already 'developed' in the Swans academy, he would be viewed differently compared to the normal swans rookie IMO.

JPK went at 64.7% last season, Parker not much better at 68%, JPK won alot more contested possessions overall which nullifies disposal efficiency and also alot less clangers. Parker already has 6 clangers today and is going at 57%, needs more disposals to score higher. DE% doesn't mean as much when you're winning most of your possessions contested, more important when you're an outside player.

I'd actually say McCartney was a big factor in why he was considering going to the Doggies in the first place, the debacle that led to both your captain and your coach leaving was why he choose not to move.

Why move to a team that at the time was, and lets be honest, a bit of a laughing stock.

Your captain just left because he couldn't handle how hard McCartney was pushing them (Let's not forget that Mooney openly admitted that McCartney was softer at the Doggies than he was at the Cats), and then your directors didn't even have the balls to stand behind the coach. Not the best culture to entice a lot of FA's.

You guys are looking a lot better now, got rid of some of the softer players, came out on top with the trade (If your Captain cant handle the hard stuff then your in trouble, so he had to go) and even though I think McCarntney got a raw deal, Beveridge should be good for you guys.

Kieran Jack gone to hospital, opens a door for Mitchell potentially who has won a truckload of possessions since coming on.

yep heard the same. Christiansen banged Longergans Mrs. Lonergan demanded either Christiansen go or he go. Christiansen left, and Geelong were happy to considering what he did, hence they took unders on the deal (effectively got Stanley for Christiansen). Lonergan was considering the doggies move until he knew Christiansen was leaving then decided to stay. Only rumours but it's what I've heard and makes sense

What was Parkers CP % last year, he is running at almost the same % as JPK today.

Wouldn't read too much into that, Christensen had a gambling problem and pissed off a few of the wrong people. He got caught banging some other guys misses and then when Lonergan started taking interest in the Doggies people just started making assumptions.

Man watching GWS pisses me off so much, literally all there team is first round picks.

I like the other version of the story better.
