Ok. Every game I watched he was playing half back or half forward with the usual 2 minute midfield stint.Aish is a midfielder.
But I do believe he has class and ability, which would add to our list, not just top up our list.

Enough to be not impressed, but again just my opinionhow many times have you actually watched Aish play, in particular, last year
If we want a smooth transition in the next few years then we need to bring in that young high end midfield talent this off season. Give them the chance to learn the game plan and benefit from the mentoring of Hodge, Mitchell and Burgoyne. This may involve playing significant chunks of the season at Box Hill - really depends how quickly they pick it up and how well they perform. Trick is finding that level talent that is prepared to come across for less money and AFL game time than they could get elsewhere. But those that do will fit the team first culture we've built.Out of interest with the Aish tooing and throwing going on in here, what position/positions do his fans think Hawthorn would chase him for?
Bruest, Rioli and Poppy go alright up forward and I already think we have a pretty good Half Forward/Midfielder in Sicily. Sicily actually reminds me a little of Hodge when he first got to Hawthorn with no tank playing half forward, but hey them's is big boots that are unlikely to be filled for many a year.......
I know it's always preferable to get as much class as possible, regardless of already having similar types on the list.
Well maybe defer to people who have watched him more...Enough to be not impressed, but again just my opinion
the danger talk is quite funny really. apparently he has had a tendency to talk personnel and list management with adelaide, with what must obviously be with a view towards future success. if he really is that way inclined then what are his views on the future of the geelong list? the commentary is all so contradictory yet it is a foregone conclusion.
Did I? Or is the fact that I have an opinion which differs mean I dismissed his opinion in your eyes...Mate you dismissed his posts in a very matter of fact manner
because you agree with his assessment, doesnt make this statement true at all-again it was in my opinionDippers points were more valid then yours.
Settle down or **** offAdd something intelligent or do not bother posting
Why, coz I dont agree?Well maybe defer to people who have watched him more...
I will admit not having watched much of Aish. This is his draft highlights package for anyone interested. Not convinced.
Big moose, If you think we are going to get Bennell, then we'll probably end up with Jack Watts.
Again this is an example of you failing to actually read, absorb and understand others quotes and opinions
When did I say Palmer was a Dud?
Quote me..
Again and again others have opinions which you disagree with and instead of engaging in proper discussion you quote things that dont exist
Thats why people say IMO
In my opinion
In my opinion
Your opinion is Aish would be a good get
My opinion is I dont think he would
Who is correct
Well, neither of us definatively
So dont get all twisted if others dont agree with you
Now your talking !!!perhaps a Mitchell Hannerbury Deledio Selwood Heppell O'Meara
Now your talking !!!
Because the some total of your contribution here is that 'you don't rate him' based on 'enough games' yet you haven't described a single element of what about him you don't like nor offered any counter to what anyone has suggested of him except 'Palmer won a rising star'.Why, coz I dont agree?
Why should I defer when it was my opinion??
Pls make sense
What do we need to give up to get Trelor? Is there any chance? He's the one we need if Danger can't happen imo
AHH I seeBecause the some total of your contribution here is that 'you don't rate him' based on 'enough games' yet you haven't described a single element of what about him you don't like nor offered any counter to what anyone has suggested of him except 'Palmer won a rising star'.

AFL.com have reported that rival clubs believe Hawthorn will make a play for him.Have we even been linked to Aish in any way? Seems to be a lot of talk about a player that has no links to us.
There is no way of getting around that we will have a dip when Hodge, Mitch, Burger, etc retire. People expecting us to just get an A grader and keep pushing for GF's are going to be disappointed. Even if we do land these players, being up for so long is mentally draining even on our 24-27 year olds.
We will probably drop down for a couple of years, then the likes of O'Rouke, Anderson, Aish (if we landed him) will then be ready to lead the midfield.
There are opinions that can be supported by facts and opinions that aren't. The former constitute part of a robust discussion that can bring a common understanding of a player's worth. The later provide little scope for any meaningful discussion. Its your unwillingness to engage in the former that is what is frustrating to people on this board. If you have a criticism of Aish that can be supported by something factual then we will be glad to hear it.AHH I see
I dont rate him as highly as some on here and maybe not as lowly as some on here yet I am asked to back up my opinion with all sorts of data and stats because you dont agree and you DO rate him.. I get it
So having an opinion based on what I have seen is not good enough for you??
Well heaven forbid anyone have a differing view than you..
For the record I dont rave about Aish because for me I see not alot to rave about
Good enough young fella but does he have the potential to be an elite midfielder that we need???
I dont think he will be
But again that is just my opinion as I have repeatedly stated all along, and I have never said my opinion is the be all and end all
If thats ok with you of course
Reckon his rising star nomination video shows even more of his worth. Good hands over head and off the deck. Reads the play well. Good skills. works into position to receive. Ticks a lot of boxes. Be the perfect player to play along side Langford and Howe.I want!
Doesn't seem lightning quick but certainly covers the ground well & kicks well, with penetration, on both feet.
What I like most (from that clip) is that he gets his possessions running from the defensive side of the contest - he doesn't shoot past the contest on the outside for cheapies & doesn't cheat running ahead of the ball, relying on team-mates. I like a mid who cares about stopping the ball going the other way.
He & Bennell will do nicely, but I won't be disappointed if we get lumped with JO'M as well

I was thinking of Sam MayesOk. Every game I watched he was playing half back or half forward with the usual 2 minute midfield stint.
But I do believe he has class and ability, which would add to our list, not just top up our list.
