Plenty of commonwealth origin immigrants up there as well.

That's true of course, i have some inside knowledge on a couple of the district cricket teams and probably 70/80% of the boys are both good cricketers and footballers, plenty are in development squads at both West Perth football and Joondalup district cricket teams.

Some have dropped out of footy this year ( year 9/10 ) to concentrate on cricket, none have dropped out of cricket for footy.

Football up here should probably find another public high school for for it's football program, Wanneroo High is seen as not a very good school, whilst the cricket Program at Belridge SH is these days seen as a good school to send your kid to.

Brandon Colbung kicked 5 goals for South.

Chapman Jones had over 30 posession's and a goal, must be added to wa state academy.

He is the best mid in colts.

Apart from Ah Chee and Colbung, are there any other indigenous boys doing well in W.A.?

Probably a few at Swan districts, i saw Warwick Wilson play a couple of weeks ago, has only played 2 games but was taking the kickouts after west Perth kicked a point.

From Clontarf which usually means he is from the bush, good skills, pace, size and importantly poise.

Brandon Starcevich is a deadset gun. Played with him at Mt Lawley, he no longer plays for us though as he only plays for Trinity, but hewill make it at AFL level no doubt. He's a CHF/FF but can play in the midfield when needed. Regularly dragged us over the line against many opponents.

Only year 10 isn't he ?, if he is and you played with him, why aren't you at school ? ;)

I think at last count Trinity has 7 or 8 players on AFL lists ATM.

Yep year 10 just like me. Trinity have a lot of great players, we played them in a grand final and lost by 60 odd points. As to not being at school, copped a whack in the face at an after school match and stayed home with slight concussion.

I liked your post, but don't like the fact you got smacked in the head, hope you are feeling OK :thumbsu:

heard this year 18s are going to be A DEVELOPMENT YEAR is this a joke
There are so many players who deserve a chance over the guys that actually got it but because they don't have an X factor or an exciting ability they missed out, really disappointed to see the guys who are really solid all-round players miss out
