The AFL is legit ****ed. Why the hell should he have to explain anything? Watson is a drug cheat. This does not need to be explained.

Personally I commend Cotchin and Mitchell for having the nuts to say **** off to the AFL.
Just leave it alone. The doping didn't make him superman. He is a quality player even if he is dumb as two house bricks and caught up in SJW'ing bullshit - I mean wtf with that hat? I detest virtue signalling - urgh...what a twit.
The Bombers got smacked hard. They will be irrelevant for a while yet. The main instigators have been moved on from the club and the sport. The players have been penalised with a chunk of their (short) career taken away and will always have the stigma attached.
Eventually enough is enough. He played good and is a midfielder so by default he was in the running. Plenty have won it that would hardly be called "fair". Some have been jipped for ridiculous little indiscretions.
The Brownlow is not as pure as they make it out to be.
Just move on ffs. Crime done, penalty paid. It is only a football award for crying out loud. Surely they have a minority group of left handed Ethiopian goat herders that can't get work in the Sudan to call a round after and Do Some Good For Them to ease their little need for validation.

So dopers caught in the Olympics shouldn't have to give up their medals? He cheated by using a banned substance and the award is isn't just for the best and fairest. The athlete has to comply with the rules regarding prohibited substances.

Well if you want the AFL to be an international laughing stock in sport why not. It probably already is but why devalue the Brownlow Medal and the champions who have earned it without the assistance of prohibited substances. Watson also lied to ASADA when he denied to them that he had been injected. So a drug cheat and a liar. And he deserves to be alongside Skilton, Bedford, Murray, Schultz and so on?

It is a boutique winter sport played predominantly in the southern and western states of Australia.
To get traction in the most states with the highest populations the AFL has had to invest untold millions, relocate existing clubs and create monsters through concessions - and they still get sub par crowds to 3 of the 4 teams they sent there.
I love the sport but seriously who gives a flying **** if it is an "international laughing stock" with the 4 Yanks that are not expats that know about the game.
I am vastly more pragmatic than to wax lyrical about the hallowed names blah blah that have won the Brownlow.
All of this shit might have meant something when the sport was "amateur" in its own way but let's not delude ourselves. This is a business and it is money driven. You really think all those guys were lily white you named? Shit, a lot of old time enduro cyclist were high on coke to keep them going. Bet it was rife in the AFL as well back in the day. It was in league.
The funniest part about the Bombers doping is it obviously did not help them. Hell it probably hindered them so good on old Jobe, the SJW freak,for winning it with some bad shit in his system. Heck of a job.
I mean really. We can be sanctimonious or realise that pretty much every week all teams send out players with pain relief and other aids to allow them to play when otherwise they couldn't. It is only arbitrary guidelines that make something "prohibited". How pure do we need to be with it? Performance enhancement occurs anyway legally.
