It's also looking to be the second year in a row that we're on track to have more members than "Big 4" Carlton (although in fairness that's as much to do with their performance as ours).

We're taking one of dad's mates to his first AFL game this weekend, if the boys put on a good show I'm hoping we might be able to get him signed up for a cheeky 3 game membership

Not old enough to know just how lowly we were after moving north. But I'm just old enough to get a tear of pride in the eye thinking we're turning into a top tier membership club.

I got a really nice shiver down the spine when I read this today. I remember sitting in the near empty Bradman stand with my folks (lucky to be 5k in the ground) seeing the team get murdered every fortnight in those dark years of the early 90s. They had one of those giant thermometer shapes tracking membership, with 10k at the top, a distant dream.

What a journey this club has taken. As with the post above sitting in empty stadiums when I was a kid to this. We have been very fortunate to have superb administrators over this time. So proud of this footy club.

Amazing to think that around 2011/12 we were less than 30k. Amazing effort to reach the mark, we should all be very proud.

Next step is to eclipse some of the Big 4, Hawthorn and the Western clubs permanently.

Wow. From buying a cheap plastic cup as a kid with the hope my little purchase would help save the club to now probably not being able to get a finals ticket.

So proud right now. This has honestly been the best start to a footy year that I can remember.
