So I think that's a whole week on HFC U19s, what's on for next week ? Their goalpost pads don't seem to be as thick as others, does that give them some sort of advantage,or is that flash scoreboard just there to distract their opponents. Can't what to read the insightful football analysis that some of the dickheads on here come up with.
Sounds like someone got a bit precious about a pretty general discussion. What insightful football analysis have you got for us genius?

I would have thought that insightful football analysis would be a waste of time on you bloke, best sticking with HFC U19. So how is it that HFC Have more players than Eltham in the rep side?

Notablowie....I'm sure you said a few years back that you followed Banyule ? Do you have an allegiance to HFC - what is your NFL team of choice ? Bit confused

I don't know what relevance that has to anything just discussed. But you don't have to be Einstein to know that Heidelberg currently have more NFL rep standard players than Eltham. Here's some insight, how is it that Eltham currently have more AFL players running around than HFC? Hint: probably cause the have half decent juniors.

Which would have nothing to do with senior club. Juniors, then onto the under 18 system

We'll Einstein,I was talking about U19s, just carrying on the theme of the week but if you'd rather talk about senior footy, did you see the scores today, hint: Ugly. But thanks getting involved

Ease up Turbo. I don't have anything to do with Eltham, nor do I follow them. Just amazing how if there's anything remotely negative posted about Heidelberg, you & your merry gang of gaylords get so defensive.

Just reading up on the NFL and seem this. How many Turbo's are there? I'm going to have to copyright my name. Lol

For the record I don't particularly follow any side but keep an eye on the Nth Heideiberg doggies from back in the day when that legend of a bloke Wingrave was playing there and then I seen the champ Gray play.

Anyway enjoy the season boys.

Heidelberg looked a class above yesterday against a team who looked completely out of their depth. Eltham didn't kick their first goal until the halfway point of the third quarter, major issues with their forward line looking like a bunch of u19s against a ruthless bower, Cosgriff and Gribbin. Bergs without Connors up forward, which didn't mean much as their were 13 individual goal kickers. Also a bloke called Marigliani due to come into the side. Big tests to come against the boro and macloed at Mac will determine their standing.

Yes you're right Jellybelly first and foremost a Bear but living in the Warringal park area I follow HFC in the Div1footy,so a bit like our good friend Brutal who has duel allegiance and probably yourself a Norf/Macleod person I'm tipping. That's four good wins between you and l yesterday. While I've got you Jelly, l see the council have been hard at work at the Melican stadium with the terrace at the front, it's all traveling along nicely for you blokes at the minute.

I like to support clubs that do the right thing by their communities in growing the game via juniors, not bank balances or sugar daddy's. Waste of time me supporting a club like Heidelberg. I'd get no satisfaction contributing to an organisation that made mine or many others contribution secondary to that of one mans ego. If TB is such a great leader then perhaps he should be providing that leadership via sustainable playing lists with growth from within. There will come a time when he wont be around and his legacy may include premierships but it won't include a club with any sense of community despite their 150 year history and nice old photos on the wall. Its worth remembering that most of us enter and stay connected at local clubs because of the community environment. I didn't start at Lower back in 96 or alternatively support Macleod due onfield glory, it was because the people involved were good people and had a passion to work for one another as part of their whole football and wider community. And you can sense that same feeling walking into many other clubs. Supporting the Diamond Creek girls and starting a FIDA team for intellectually disabled boys/men from Araluen and elsewhere is just one example of Lower being more than just a football club. For sure Heidelberg and others may point to their own successes and our lack of success and current struggles at div 1, but when it's all said and done of course we want to and strive to reach onfield success but to mean anything and survive beyond our four walls we must stand for more, and that more is embracing our community. When the season is done and dusted, I think we will look back at what has happened and know we have succeeded in far more important areas and meant more to people than our win/loss record.

Well said Brutal

Stop drinking your own bath water Brutal.

You have no idea what individuals or other clubs do in the community.

Would a bloke who is just in it for his own ego bother coaching the U12's cricket side? I think not.

The Heidelberg Football Club have been around for a lot longer that Lower Plenty, and we will be here for a lot longer also.

So I'm glad you can sleep well at night, as we will sleep well at night and also win something!!

I'm definitely a Macleod person only. Played Junior footy with Puffa at Macleod when he was a short and fat back pocket ( true story ) , played cricket at Macleod, grew up in Macleod. I have no other allegiances. As for the "Melican Stand" I was sick up picking up the cigarette butts off the dirt so I was a welcome relief to be able to sweep them up now. Just need the grass to hold up over winter and it's certainly been great to watch the transformation of a struggling club to the current position we find ourselves in without cash injections and AFL recruits

Are you insinuating that the people involved with Heidelberg aren't good and have a passion to work for one another? If so you couldnt be more ignorant or blinded by your own petty agenda against a football club that has done more to the football completion and community than most can say have. Absolutely no sense of community Heidelberg... Just aside from the continued support of the SALT foundation who offer support, food and shelter to those in need in the local community, or the continued support for the now defunct Heidelberg RSL, or the proud affiliation with the Montmorency/Eltham RSL sub branch whose partnership has helped create an amazing community event every ANZAC day and not to mention frequent clinics which are conducted throughout the local primary schools by the senior club. I think a fair measure of how a club contributes to a community is the amount of people there are at the ground on a Saturday week in week out lower plenty is represented about as well as a local cricket club.

Hey Brutal, in case you haven't noticed ,this thing BF, is full of dribble and getting worse, at the start of last year your first club LP were signing as many players as they could and YOU were trumpeting it on this forem to all and sundry and now that you couldn't honour your commitment and they all left its back to community based footy and potting a bloke you have absolutely no idea about.
