I think we've run out of material !! We've done the annual QAFA A v QAFA B discussion, we've taken pot shots at Jimboomba, we took shots at Kedron even though they aren't even in the comp anymore and it's only the middle of July !!
Maybe we can get Gerry to throw a few more hand grenades out there ??

Disappointing to see forfeit's coming into play. Doesn't help anyone leading into finals. If you can't commit to a full season, don't put your hand up.

There used to be a rule that if you forfit three times your whole senior group is out for two years. Wonder if this is still the case. Or is it mornigside have different rules.
Seems strange that they travelled to Jimboomba without a full team on a Saturday afternoon but couldn't field a team just down the road on a Friday. Not sure what is going on there but from the time I spent at Morningside it seems very strange and out of character for the club.
Once again though special mention to the Ippy Cats boys/club for having us down last night. Got abit of a spanking but played the game in great spirit and the hospitality after the game was great. Culture at the club has dramatically changed this year and hopefully they get a win before seasons out. Not winning a game in 2 years must be tough but their boys keep showing up and having a crack which is awesome to see.

Interesting couple of weeks coming up to decide the coveted final spot in the finals. With Morningside seemingly no longer having the commitment required to see out a full 16 round season of park footy, it would be safe to say they're out of contention. It all comes down to the Collingwood Park v Ferny Grove game next week, as the final round should see Collingwood Park lose and Ferny Grove win unless Coorparoo seniors have a bye next weekend? If Collingwood Park win at home next week it will see them get home by the barest of margins, a sprained angle to be exact.
Second dig at me about an injury which I find is pretty poor form. And I'm only assuming you mean me by referencing 'angle'....
Like I said earlier in the year we only want to be apart of finals if we earned it not because we were done any favours. The game should have never been called off I should have been off and out of there within 10 minutes as everybody at the ground was told I would be.
The situation didn't turn out that way and I apolisgied to everyone involved for them not being allowed to have a full game and being eligible for the 4 points.
If it comes down to scraping in by 2 points so be it. At the end of the day if Ferny beat us again they more than deserve it. Unfortunately for them they lost some players mid year due to army commitments and dropped a few games they otherwise would have won. Had this happened we wouldn't even be in the picture.
Ferny and ourselves now just have to play the cards that have been dealt. If I have to cop the slack for it because not only myself but others around me believed the injury was more severe so be it.
Continue to sit behind your screen and take stabs from the dark. Fine by me your entitled to your opinion but I'll rather go the other way and give respect to all those that I come in contact with.

Wasn't really a factor to be honest, we didn't kick straight so we didn't deserve to win. Also missed crucial tackles and gave away stupid free kicks when it counted. Congrats to Yeronga on the win

3 horse race between Sandgate, Zillmere and UQ for the flag.
So doesn't really matter who else plays finals as they'll only be making up the numbers.

So you are writing off the Woodsmen and Jimboomba. You either have no idea or are trying to stir the pot with a few clubs. I would say the no idea quote is correct in your case. Hasn't been much between the top 5 sides all year, hard to discount two of the more consistent teams who have featured in finals consistently. Anything can happen in finals, each team is capable of quality football.
We've played Sandgate once. Beat them.
Played UQ twice, beat them by 1 point and lost by 4 points. Both times with 4+ key players missing (no doubt they could have had guys missing too)
Played Zillmere twice for a 1 point loss and a 20 point loss. Though the 20 point loss we were the strongest we've been all year on paper, only missing one or two players - so that one hurt.
Played Jimboomba twice with half a team both times. Saturday games are a bit of a joke really.
5 teams will legitimately think they can win it, and all have legitimate claims i would have thought. Given we play all the other top 5 sides twice, we were always going to be up against it for ladder position.
Zillmere easily the best side we've played, and like us they seem to have 5+ changes week to week so once finals come around you would expect best 22s to be settled and team compositions will be very very different.
Every side doesn't have there best each week and 4-5 changes, I think any of the top 5 can win the GF this season. But will come down to who finishes top 2. All the top sides played each other twice, can't use that as an excuse of ladder position.
Who did you have out thommo? Redbacks were a bit light on Aswell missing Grieg, Heppell, smit, and himstead. Who are quality players. Tim Martin playing out of position for half the game and crackers Dillon nursing a hangover. All teams aren't 100% every week for all sorts of different reasons.
The woodsmen boys were a great bunch on and off the field as per usual and game was played hard and fast.

Who gives a crap about the draw, it is what it is. I think the point Thomo42 was trying to make in his first post was that Woodsmen have have beaten Sandgate and UQ and lost by 20 points or less to Zillmere, Jimboomba the first time and UQ second time around and those games could have gone either way so he believes that his woodsmen are still a chance of winning it in response to Sixsense's post about it being a 3 horse race between Zillmere, Sandgate and UQ.
Having watched Jimboomba play Zillmere a few weeks back, if they can produce the football they played in the first half consistently, I think they will take it out so in my opinion, big call to make Sixsense that Jimboomba and woodsmen are only making up numbers.
