If they are willing to give their First Round Selection for Cam McCarthy then we need to be pushing the ticket on this one...

It's clear as day that Hill is twice the player that McCarthy is and in all honesty GWS have lost all leverage on that one, should have taken the offer last year...

Does the following sound feasible???

● Bradley Hill --> Fremantle in exchange for their 2016 First Round Selection
● Cam McCarthy --> Fremantle in exchange for their 2017 Second Round Selection

I'm pretty sure that's more than achievable and if not, let's consider the likelihood that the WCE would love to add him to their list which would mean yet again he's lining up AGAINST his brother which neither of them want...
Mate that is absolutely delusional. Hill is not worth pick 3 even with Gus and Stewart thrown in.

McCarthy would justly be valued more highly by Freo and most other clubs because he is a promising KPF.

The fact that Hill has played in 3 premierships amounts to two thirds of **** all.

BRAD Hill runs in the red zone as well as any AFL player.

The Hawks don’t talk publicly about it much, but when Hill churns relentlessly up and down and side to side across the ground, he creates gaps in play for his onballers to revel in. Hill, 23, has never been an elite ball-winner and is probably restricted largely to the wing. But as his best, this catch-me-if-you-can midfielder is super damaging and was last year ranked elite (top 10 per cent in the AFL) for score assists. News on Saturday that Hill is seriously weighing up a move to join his brother Stephen at Fremantle came as a bit of a shock, after three flags in five years at Hawthorn. But the Hawks will be steadfast in their position at the trade table. Bet your house the three-time reigning premier will want a first-round draft pick for him, somewhere, say, in the vicinity of pick No.15 to 20. A draft pick in the late 20s, for example, without a decent sweetener, won’t get the deal done. Dockers Tom Sheridan and Chris Mayne’s names will also come up as potential swaps, and we think Sheridan will appeal more than Mayne will. But the Hawks are a strong enough club to keep Hill to his contract next year, if the deal isn’t right. Coach Alastair Clarkson and head of footy Chris Fagan won’t accept unders for a bloke under contract.

Brad Hill celebrates a goal against Sydney in Round 17.
Their trade argument will be logical. Hill was taken with pick No.33 in the 2011 national draft, has stood up in big finals, played in three premierships, and has at least eight seasons left in him. After 87 games, Hill’s body is not that of a banged up inside midfielder. Only last week he had 25 possessions against Sydney in what was probably his best game of the year. And off the ball, he is lauded inside Hawthorn’s inner sanctum for his tireless and sacrificial running. Just watch the behind-the-goals vision. You would have to say he is more accomplished than former Hawk Jed Anderson, who was traded from Hawthorn, along with two third-round selections, to North for pick No.19 last year. If the 2011 draft was re-done, Hawthorn would strongly argue he would sit in the top-10 or so players, and not too far off the likes of Taylor Adams, Sam Docherty, Devon Smith, Tom Mitchell, Toby Greene and co. Hill’s form has tailed off this season but how much of that is because things off the field have been a little unsettled? Clearly, it’s been a factor. This is a smart play from Fremantle, as it attempts to supercharge its ageing midfield and fast-track its rebuild, just like Geelong did at the trade table last year. To keep superstar free agent Nat Fyfe, the Dockers know they have to be active in the trade market. We believe they are on track to get GWS Giants goalkicker Cam McCarthy and Hill, will try and keep its top pick (currently No.3), and harness Harley’s Bennell’s exquisite talent. All they need to do next is jag the elusive key backman. Do that, and like the Cats, the turnaround will be quicker than we think.

So they read this thread an summarized our thoughts.

No quotes, facts or anything.

We were into him in his draft year. He went at 16 though and our first pick was 33(Hill).

I know we've been keen on him and have explored getting him to Hawthorn ever since, some hawk posters may not rate him to highly but I think under our system he could be a valuable asset.

Freo don't have the picks the facilitate the Hill trade, we know they won't give up 3. It's going going to involve a 3rd team and/or swap of future picks plus a player.

Sheridan has nice size, I would honestly prefer him over Langdon or Weller who are Hartung like in stature, we have enough smalls.
