Its gonna be Joel Wilkinson. 'Former NFL player' :(:D

Seriously though, has there ever been a rookie with an NFL background? A lot of the skillsets aren't really similar so this guy would be starting further back then even an Irish lad or basket-baller. But the guy would probably make Jesse Lonergan look small so why not take a punt.
 
It would have to be a young guy, surely. I don't want a 27 year old coming in, taking 4 years to develop, then retiring after one season.

Doesn't fill a need for you guys. It'll be Tigers, Demons, Saints or Hawks I reckon if he does.

Thats a different discussion. Id have to say Id need to really study him but id say he would be exactly what we need.. but he is another quality mid. The likes of GWS ,Collingwood , Dogs ... teams who want to be in the heat of the season need to have a killer mid group. Atm , we have 2 Agrade mids with a few just under that.

Id say he would be a defacto replacement for Christensen. Would you agree he is an inside hard contested ball winner if so he would be a good addition. But it seems he either stays or perhaps goes to Melb?

Why do you need more inside players when your starting three are all inside players foremost?

Christensen would have a lot better disposal than Prestia. He's an incredible clearance and contested player but he's really going to have to work on his disposal. No good getting 28-30 touches a game if your gonna dispose at 63%. Looks like he will stay but I actually tip him as more likely to leave than O'Meara. I'd be okay with that. I don't mind losing one for a draft pick top up but I don't want to lose both. Don't mind which one either. We have some awesome midfield academy talent coming through this year and next.

Starting 3? Not sure who that you are talking about but Bartel will probably finish this year..Id think will like another contested player to add..we have Murdoch, Motlop , Duncan outside ... as I said I highly doubt he will be our first choice and that he will be our target so its a bit academic.
If was going to target a player at GC he wouldn't be the one. If GC do what they hope this year perhaps it will encourage players like him to sign on.

Forgive me if I'm wrong but does Guthrie not play out of the centre now? Maybe I overestimated your midfield depth. Don't think you could afford Prestia though either surely?

Nothing to forgive...its actually a strong debate on our board... Guthrie is probably our 4th to 6th best mid... but he may be our best small defender.

Always liked him. Probably my favourite Geelong player id say. Personally I think he's wasted down back but with Thurlow out might be needed there this season hey?
