'you never get what you feel you deserve..you get what you have the leverage to negotiate' Jalen Rose

See Harley Bennell and Zac Smith - we copped it sweet when we got bent over (BF supporters squealed like pigs but the club copped it sweet). AFL works in cycles and if it isn't us getting in there to pick at the carcass it will be other clubs, as everyone will be smelling the blood in the water.

Essendon the football club don't deserve any mercy (that should be saved for their players and their supporters) - they are a rabble and negligent.

I'm sure we will be more fair than most clubs, especially give Dordoro's reputation as an easy man to deal with at the trade table - he will still be required to drop his pants for us though like everyone else.

I tend to think Suns would be a great landing place for disenfranchised bomber - promising list, sunshine, new facilities and being able to get the hell out of Melbourne spotlight.

How are we feeling about this post you made in January OB11?

Dodoro will forgive you, all you must do is kiss the hand.

I think it's Hawthorn

My reasoning being that when Brad Hill let the Hawks know that he may want to leave to go home to WA Clarkson was very OK with it all, almost like he knew that his list management team were going to need more assets for a bigger deal to be done at the end of the season... maybe it's Tom Mitchell, maybe it's O'Meara...

I believe its been Hawthorn all along as well. Was talking 4 months ago with a person involved in AFL footy who had heard a rumour that O'meara would come back and play 3-4 games (close), would request to leave and nominate Hawthorn (looks likely), and would sign a franklin/boyd deal of 7-8 years on big $$. Time will tell

One theory I have heard tossed around was recruiting an experienced key fwd, putting Sam Day as a permanent key defender to bolster our defence, and in turn freeing up May to be more like a roaming 3rd tall rebound defender with his long kicking.
We can do that without Riewoldt.. play lynch and wright forward.. jack martin, ah chee and clay cameron as marking medium talls.. our deficiency is contested ball winning midfielders and applying pressure/slowing the opposition down

No club will offer 7-8 years on a guy who hasnt played afl in 2 years

Remove Clay Cameron and add Stringer then im ok with not getting Riewoldt

Cloke is avaible

We don't need Riewoldt but one team who does is Freo.... Freo with Riewoldt and possibly McCarthy is a totally different proposition. So they want Riewoldt and McCarthy, Richmond want Prestia and we have draft picks galore to make up the difference.
How about Richmond get Prestia, we get Fyfe and Freo get Riewoldt pick 8 (from us) and pick 21 (ironically their pick) from us. I'd say Richmond might want steak knives from us as well.

In summary:
We get Fyfe and lose Prestia, Pick 8 and pick 21. that's got to be enough for Fyfe doesn't it - I'm not sure (he is fu*kn good).
Freo get Riewoldt and pick 8 and Pick 21 that they can use for McCarthy.
Richmond get Prestia and maybe some steak knives from us (Cameron).

Devastated and I can't sleep at night, just keep having flashbacks of my post and crying... happy yet?

It could work - Riewolt is smarter, more mobile and kicks straighter than Sam Day. Day is a better defender than a forward and releasing May to play wherever opens up so many more options

We could front end load a contract before resigning swallow, wright etc next year.. give a 20 y.o. a headstart financially. Guaranteed midfield minutes.. he would compliment our midfield really well.

I can see us dealing with Geelong.
Who don't have a draft pick till 35 almost third round material.

They have lots of good young talent in the VFL
Maybe send them a second round pick for 1 of there fringe and a pick back in return or similar

Geelong isn't Melbourne - Maybe JOM will ask in a contract for a Limo to drive him to and from Melbourne each day

Really? I thought that the pies would be desperate to hang onto him
Yeah, a pick 5 doesnt normally move on 2 years later. As I said the rumour is growing legs and the only thing that would make sense is if JOM wants to get to Collingwood, DeGoey would need to be part of that seeing as we dont have a first rounder at the moment

Would Rockliff be on our radar would be an easy move for him, not sure if he and Rischa have history, right age and right position, seems like there is an air of issues about him at the Lions though, just not sure what it is
