Position 2017 Defenders

I'll be keeping a keen eye on the scores of Vince T McDonald and Hibberd in the pre season. Depending on the roles of Hibberd and Vince they could be pretty handy down back. McDonald is right in the frame for a 95+ season IMO.

Thinking Hartlett looks tempting if he performs well in pre season. Also I'll be watching Kolo from GC. Seems he had a few issues last year and could have a breakout.

Montagna is going to be a solid pick as he racks it up and has been very durable over the years. However maybe a little pricey.

I had locked Docherty in but now looking a possibly saving some $ and bringing him in later hoping for a price drop.

Taylor Adams I like. Hasn't been that durable but can easily go 100+. I'll also be keeping an eye on Tom Langdon at his price.

KK is interesting at that price and I'm not touching Adams. Just won't play enough games for mine

Thinking the same about Adams, will average well when he's playing but total points won't be great if his playing history continues.

The kid is a freak and he smashed out a 77 average in his first year playing small defender, he could easily go ~90 with a few more touches

Heeney's goal scoring ability gives him the edge though

When they finish up I think Mills will be regarded higher than Heeney, but Heeney is still an absolute jet.
As a mid Heeney probably has a slightly more advantageous SC game because he's a goal scorer.
No reason why they can't both breakout...
I also hate yet admire Heeney because he destroyed my soul in game when we were 15 or 16.

IMHO Better value on other lines if you're looking for underpriced premos to select as stepping stones and/or with a small chance to finish as keepers in their position (eg Roughead, Ryder, Swallow, Beams, Murphy, O'Meara, Sandi). And in defence you could probably find a rookie this year who costs 220k less for a loss of only 10-20 ppg.
