So we are allowed to play unlimited listed guys because it is against a fellow AFL team. With close to a full list to select from does that mean when we play a non-AFL NEAFL side, listed players will actually miss out on a game. Doesn't seem right.

Strongest team i have seen named for a bloody long time.

Strong line up, it is quite nice to have some pressure from the reserve side. Is there any way we can watch the game?

Just looked up, 33% in the last 4 years.

I had a feeling we'd had a couple of wins but these results were what was at the front of mind

Round 19, 2016: Sydney Swans 24.16 (160) defeated Brisbane Lions 3.7 (25) at Blacktown
Round 5, 2016: Sydney Swans 20.15 (135) defeated Brisbane Lions 3.7 (25) at Coorparoo
Round 1, 2016: Sydney Swans 25.12 (162) defeated Brisbane Lions 5.10 (40) at Burpengary

Similar to Hawthorn’s infamous “Kennett curse” following their 2008 premiership victory over Geelong, since beating the Swans in the 2013 decider the Lions have not won a single NEAFL match against them, losing their last nine by an average margin of over 66 points.

Cannot see it happening again this year, you would have to agree we are better than that in 2017?

Not sure why Keays is the stay-at-home emergency. Very counter productive for his confidence you'd think.

What saying 'you're the next man up from the 25 odd not selected' is not a confidence builder?

If I can't be in the 22, being First Reserve sounds pretty good.

You'd hope so
They did get beaten convincingly enough in the shortened match at Metricon last week.
But it is a strong team. The strongest we could possibly field. You would want to hope they can put up a decent performance.
Best chance in some time to beat Sydney.

It does sound good.
But some good solid time in the midfield sounds better.

Queensland reporter Michael Whiting churning out the pars for us here on Late Mail Live. Good signs for two highly-rated Lions youngsters:

THE BRISBANE Lions got their first run on the Gabba for 2017 on Friday morning, with two of their prized youngsters showing good signs on the way back from injury.

Josh Schache (knee) and Hugh McCluggage (ankle) have missed more than a month of footy, but ran strongly in a light session under sunny skies.

The pair of teenagers have been chosen to play in the NEAFL against Sydney in Bankstown on Saturday, as the Lions near almost a full list to pick from.

Schache, the number two draft pick in 2015, and McCluggage, number three last year, are both in the Lions' best 22 when fit and would likely need just one strong game to put their hand up for senior selection.

No.23 draft pick Alex Witherden will also play his first game in almost a year after overcoming a broken leg.

Injuries have ravaged the Lions in recent seasons, but only Allen Christensen (collarbone), Rhys Mathieson (ankle) and Sam Skinner (ACL) are unavailable this weekend.

Will be interesting to see how our draftees from last year do in this game. All 6 of them taken in the main draft have been named to play

That's one fine looking reserves team. Has our reserves team beat Sydney's at all recently?

No, but first indications on Berry are that he'll be a very good player in time.
You saying he'll be a Berry good player, Rip?
