Picks
TW2 (24)
LWP3 (30)
RR3 (40)
LWP4 (44)

I will delist the 5 players highlighted above. I believe that takes my list total to 41 and opens the four picks listed - 24, 30, 40 + 44 - in the draft.

Pretty keen on this after the AFL draft. That middle chunk could go 100 different ways so I'm pretty happy with a batch of picks here as well as a heavy top end next season.

Deal.

I like Redman and think he has talent. Im not sure on his place in the Bombers side short term but he will be a player.

JKH I think is actually MORE talented but he hasnt been able to force his way into the Dees line up. This is probably a make or break year for him in terms of getting a regular spot and Im hoping Goodwin lets him play.

The pick swap balances the risk on my end. We both agree Redman will be solid longterm, im hoping JKH can hit the heights he promised when first drafted.

I now go to the draft with 23, 30, 31 and 40 as well as a couple of extra picks next year.

Brining the Dons players (and Monfries) back into my 22, with the improvement from my middle tier, and hopefully the start of something from the likes of Nankervis and Sinclair... Im pretty happy with this rebuild.

If I can nail this draft then I think 2018 will see a pretty sharp rise for Team LWP

I agree, Redman is a guy I wanted last year, and have wanted him ever since. JKH has had bad injuries but showed early he has talent I think depending on who falls to pick 31 I could regret this but just generally a good trade imo.

Picks
AL1 (14)
AL2 (28)
AL3 (42)
AL4 (56)

At this stage, the reigning premiers, Albury Lightning will take all 4 picks in the draft. However, coach flaps has committed to turning over the list where necessary and is open to offers on players should it benefit both parties.

Either everyone loves their teams, everyone is in tough negotiations or trades between Rockford, tenderwarrior and myself are what spurred people on to improve their lists haha

Looking forward to the draft. Have got my sheet ready and will be hoping for a couple of sliders at my first pick. I think this is going to be a very tough year to try and predict given the range of players taken early in the AFL draft.

Free kicks will be interesting next year. Not sure Selwood and Shuey will be the locks they once were.

Also the 3rd man up makes hitouts interesting. Lewis, Hodge, Bont, Riewoldt, Blicavs... All are going to see less points in this stat which makesthat ruck/forward a little more important.

What has changed with the Free Kicks?

What has changed with the Free Kicks?

AFL have said that the application of the tackle will be the umpire's first consideration when giving a head high contact free. If the umpire determines that the initial contact in the tackle was legal and that the ball player has caused the high contact in an attempt to draw a free kick or break the tackle then no free kick will be awarded.

If you tackle the arms and the player raises them to push the tackle around the neck then the tackle will still be legal. If the tackle is completed it can be called holding the ball.

So the "Selwood Shrug" is out. The Lindsay Thomas 'fall at the knees' is still going to be a 50/50 call for the umpire though.

My trade table would fit inside a doll-house... but if a side is after a depth defender I am looking to trade Aaron Mullett for a future draft pick - so a pick I would use in our 2018 pre-season draft ☺

Add Cam Sutcliffe to that list.

Sutcliffe value range between pick 25-35ish? (preferably draft pick for this year's draft)

Mullett value range between 35-45ish? (preferably draft pick for next year's draft)

I know there are a few teams who could do with some extra defenders!

Age demographic of Sparrows list is:

19-8
20-8
21-6
22-2
23-7
24-5
25-3
28-1

Not in the premiership window but all have plenty of time left in the game!

Warriors as of start of 2017 (including 3 newbies in the draft)
18 - 3
19 - 4
20 - 2
21 - 3
22 - 10
23 - 3
24 - 9
25 - 6
26 - 3
27 - 1
28 - 1

Breaking it down into age groups (assuming Sparrows take 5 x 18 year-old newbies)

18-20 - Warriors 9 vs Sparrows 21
21-23 - Warriors 16 vs Sparrows 15
24-26 - Warriors 18 vs Sparrows 8
27+ - Warriors 2 vs Sparrows 1

It looks like I am 4 years development in front of Sparrows from an age profile, but he will leap-frog me next year if I don't start drafting/trading better!

Please double check your delistings. If it gets to the deadline and you've failed to delist someone (whether they're on an AFL list or not) you'll be taking that player with you into next season and your earliest opportunity to free your the list spot will be after the draft.
