Pick those 2 + Ryder up forward and swing Ryder into the rucks in round 11.
Thats 1 way to do it I guess?
It makes no difference....bye rounds is best 18!

This was a discussion for a different fantasy football game, that the previous years' no 1 ruck has never backed it up.Grundy/Stef.
I can't bring myself to pay that much for Gawn. When has a #1 ruck ever backed it up? Cox and Goldy didn't back up there 120+ average years with similar numbers. Jacobs didn't back his up, Minson didn't, Stef last year.. Plus Gawn's knees. Unless Stef or Grundy get injured I'm almost certainly picking them two.

Might keep him in if named round 1. Out for 5 weeks so has plenty of time to get himself right before round 1. The lure of a ruckman at 300k that can score at premo levels (or near premo) while strengthening other lines is too great for me despite the injury risk. Might reduce some other risky options in other lines to account for him.To Sandi or not is gonna kill me
Are you the type of Guy to insure his House, Contents, Car, Dog, Budgies funeral etc?Say if you have gawn and martin as R1 R2 do you really need ryder in the fwd line as dpp back up

If the answer is NO, you won't need Ryder.
Do you really need ryder as F4 dpp if eg you got gawn and martin as ruck 1 and 2
If you think ryder can average 90+ then he's good value.
Dpp is a bonus
Has Ryder ever averaged 90?
If Lobbe plays then Ken is done. He can go back to playing in the Dahlhaus with Barbie. If Ryder rucks with Trengove as back up, I fail to see how he will be a bad pick at his discounted price, should comfortably manage 90+.
Worst case is if Lobbe plays, Ryder still scores 10% above his price.
He hasnt missed a game since returning from injury the year before in his breakout year. 2015.This was a discussion for a different fantasy football game, that the previous years' no 1 ruck has never backed it up.
Gawn may well... but he's played one year of senior AFL football without significant injury. He may not be so lucky in 2017.
Problem is there a better R2 other than Grundy?I think picking Ryder as a forward is a good move. I think he goes 90+ and allows you to have a decent backup ruck alomg with a cheap rookie R/F as R3.
Problem is there a better R2 other than Grundy?
No third man up I have wanted for ages. Stupid to have ruckmen and then spoil the duel with some dickhead coming in from the side, dangerous and diminishes the spectacle of two rucks plying their trade.Another SHIT rule change
Just leave the ******* game alone you stupid campaigners
I just have to find the time to research why Jacobs sucked last year and he's is in line for R2 ATM. Last year I didn't pick him. On of the few good moves I made last year.I think a fit Jacobs is a better choice. He has no real competition and crows are finals material.
Probably need to see what the lions coach wants to do. He may go with some youth to develop and we could see Martin play a different role.
But why though. He wasn't putrid the year before. Not a fan of Jacobs. Was putrid last year. It's either Martin or Goldy R1
As some legend ponted out, Dusty and some other dude has left the top fwds to be mids, that elevates a few prospects IMO. Ryder is in after I see him play in Nab equivalent.Big risk I know, but I think a lot of the top FWDs this year will be more KPPs and so we should be able to pick them up cheaper throughout the year. If there are enough playing rookies in the FWD that seem to have decent JS then it's a risk I am willing to take.
Huh? But Jacobs is cooked at 28 you said bro?Ryder is a safe pick guys.
Lets look at Port's ruck stocks.
Ryder - Is 28 years old which is prime for a ruck and just had a year off making him 27 in footy years.
Gun at the centre bounce and around the ground, can kick a goal and take a grab.
Averaged 85 and 23 hitouts for Port playing next to a full time ruck.
Averaged 90 twice, 100 and 105 in his last 4 years at Essendon.
Trengove - not a ruck never will be, can't jump, can't hitout to advantage and was a stop gap in a bottom 8 side
Averaged 73 and 11 (yes 11) hitouts as Port's main ruck during 2016
Lobbe - pick him I dare you.
Port - play him I dare you.
LOL, Gawn even with his injury history was the ONLY ruck to play 22 games last year in the top 20 rucks of Stuporcoach. So you're picking Ryder because you think one of your rucks will get injured?
