All in all you have to be pleased we're no longer the AFL's fixture shit kicker. Generally speaking we have a good number of blockbuster time slots and opponents. Even our '04 fixture was loaded with shitty Sunday games.....in a premiership year and in a dominant era.

We've done ok. Let North and Gold Coast worry about being the AFL shitkickers now.

Good to see we've been lumped with Gold Coast again and dumped from FTA.

What a perfect opportunity if would have been for the AFL to force everyone to watch us smack the pants off of Gold Coast again. But no, into the dark depths of fox sports 3 it goes.

Carlton get night matches against Richmond, Collingwood!?, North!?, Bulldogs!?!?, Crows, Geelong, Sydney, St Kilda!?!??!?!, Gold Coast (FML) and we get ****ing 4.

Carlton shouldn't exist let alone be gifted a ****ing bonanza promotional fixture

Gold Coast have 7 night games, Brisbane with 5, Carlton with 9, North with 4... We have 4.

We are still the AFL's perennial shit kicker

Only 5 games being broadcasted via channel 7 is concerning

This sort of thing still grates.

A dumpster fire like Carlton can spend 15 years moseying into 'traditional blockbusters' as the Washington Generals component of proceedings and they're free to pump up their national exposure to all and sundry.

I think they are giving everyone an oportunity to kick the Blues' assess on national TV...

We've spewed out three years of shit, I can't really blame the primary network for not being interested. If we perform well next year and don't get a bump up the year after (more channel 7, more night games), then I'll be annoyed about it.

When competing for sponsors in the same market, 5 national FTA games for us versus 13 for Adelaide is not helpful.

Crows are more bankable than us. They were minor premiers and runners up, their geriatric knitters rock up to AO rain, hail or shine and they have plenty of away support in Melbourne due to the likes of recently retired Carol and Colin making a weekend of it whilst catching up with their friends from Sandringham.

It's been like this forever, just the way the broadcasting regions work.

2004 was the gold standard.

Despite being a perennial challenger, we were dealt 9 - nine! - Sunday home games buried away in dreary Fox Footy timeslots.

The fixturing's gotten much friendlier, but the TV exposure is still minimal. All things being equal there's no way both Showdowns and two games against a rising Essendon should be shuffled into obscurity.

Win probability wasn't the concern.

That's an insane amount of travel in a short span, with the one home stand being the most robust contest there is.

Yeah but it's mostly easy kill, so it shouldn't have too much impact on our season. We get a pretty sweet ride in the following 5 weeks too playing 4 of them at home. Tougher opposition though.
