So to be a top 10 forward, which you'd want Taranto to be considering his price, he'd need to average 90+.
Over the last few years GWS have had about 8 players go 90+ throughout the year, so lets assume that trend continues
Likely 90+ scorers for GWS (6)
Kelly, Ward, Shiel, Whifield, Greene, Coniglio (Mumford and Williams were the others from last year)
Borderline 90+
Shaw, Scully, Cameron, Lobb (if playing ruck)
So assuming the first 6 all play to their usual output, Taranto will probably need to outscore that next lot to get to 90+.
It's not a bad bet really, based on last year he's in the next crop a long with Hopper and a few others to take that next step.
I think he's more likely to go 80s, which is still good, but might not be enough.

You know, i looked at him the other day ......strong JLT series, quality player, wouldn't be the worse decision i've seen up fwd ( Bundy)
Stoked to have him in my draft side!
I think he may end up being a touch inconsistent this year and struggle to average over 85. Devon Smith is a much safer candidate for the extra cash IMO.

Still some doubt about Barry's JS .......i have two solid JS on-field mid-rookies & 2 solid off-field rookies ......so i've decided to carry Ahern into the season as a mid-rookie
If it's good enough for Coaches to carry Dangerfield .....the same then applies to Ahern

Think I'll be taking the punt on Walters, trained with the midfield group pre season. Bit of doubt about roles/mid minutes for the Doggies so I'll wait and see.

Anyone considering Cyril if he is named? Or more a wait and see how he starts the first two games?
My forwards have chopped and changed the most. The only absolute lock this year for me is Billings. He will be no.1 by years end in my books.

I'd be much more comfortable with my team if Ahern played some JLT, looked good, and got named round 1. Prime downgrade target though.

Pendles was on Triple M this morning and said Stephenson is in the mix but not locked in for round 1.
Probably not worth it then. Rayner is the biggest lock, even if scoring may be an issue.. hmm

Agree, for the premium price you would want solid JS. Hope he gets games, keen to see what he's got.

I agree, but we know North will be looking to get him in ASAP ..... speculative, I know, but 3 on the bench allows a small risk

Yeah, I'm quite convinced he'll step it up this year. Just not sure that will all convert to a big jump in points if he's only doing brief stints in the midfield
What's Dev's role at Essendon going to be? Does it look like they'll use him in the mids full-time?

Seems like Smith will be a full time mid for us, need him around the ball a lot more than we need him as a forward.
