The new Simple Minds album has been fairly intriguing, I've been listening to it a lot lately. It's very vibrant and has a lot of energy, recalling their heydey more effectively than their other most recent work. My favourite song is 'Summer'.

Anyone hyping this Kacey Musgraves?

The songwriting and lyricism is pretty similar to Taylor Swift's old stuff; common use of dynamics and the structures really rely on production in between verse and chorus. But in places the production is like a Nigel Godrich record (OK Computer/Sea Change especially). It's a nice album.

Sounds very Beatles.

Their best is probably behind them but they can get the hype these days so... there's that?

I do like the art style I’ll give them that. I had been watching some videos of a guy who wanders through abandoned Hotels and Malls and often he’d show an old advertisement or promo for the place he was at. The teaser is like a promo showing the concept for the Hotel and Casino that the album seems to be about.

Sick how the album is out in a month.

But what teasers? It's been the update of the social media images and what else? I can't see much more? And I love album marketing.

I wish they'd just release a single, teasers are ok, but a single makes more sense a month out from release.

I have to say, i have a good feeling about this album just from looking at the art and tracklisitng!

New Unknown mortal Orchestra album is out, pretty damn good!! It needs a few listens though. Wasn't expecting it to be so Prince/D'Angelo pop, but it has some nice rockers on it too! I'm hearing FLoyd as well.

Love the production and overall vibe although the chorus have less impact then what they did on 'big music'.

Something so infectious about Kerrs vocals, one of my all time favourites.

New EP should be out this pretty soon, but this has me feeling things.

Very much here for this year's Jay Som, Mitski, J-Brekkie indie peaks w/ Snail Mail, Soccer Mommy and Lucy Dacus.

Can't say I expected a Sky Ferreira feature on an Iceage track, but this got me. One of my favourites - most random but exhilarating gig I've been to in the last few years was seeing them play in Shanghai, that shit was unexpectedly wild - can't wait for Beyondless.
