1) Crossley - Ruck /forwardUnable to watch either game due to work. Would appreciate a breakdown of this game. What was Crossley’s role? Why was Jaska quiet? Which Academy players stakes a claim for a Draft/Rookie spot?
You mentioned early that you liked McDonald. He's an Allies player and seems to be regarded in our top 4 or 5 Academy prospects. I think he is worth a later round pick, although if he lasts through to the Rookie Draft, which is no guarantee, we take him then as a Category B - should his form continue to build, of course.1) Crossley - Ruck /forward
2) After first quarter basically the defense are Ill organized
3) To ne honest nobody stakes a claim , some potential were there but not enough to get drafted, maybe B rookie .
Crossley is pretty good for a big boy, but do drift in and out of the game inconsistent , I think need to build his games in NEAFL, I am not too worry about McDonald getting drafted by other team, he is good in term of potential , not many team in AFL going to delist ~8 players if they are not in rebuild and in term of Top 40 potential talent most team will pick Victoria , tassie and SA kids first and then WA , Victoria team only pick Elite junior like Beam type .You mentioned early that you liked McDonald. Crossley's stats were outstanding - was he that good?
Yet to get final stats, but Crossley got 25 touches, 9 marks, 5 tackles and a tonne of hitouts. Hardly "in and out" of the game unless he was on the bench or rested forward. McDonald could attract a bid in the Draft, forcing us to either match it or let him go. NEAFL-aligned clubs could become interested if he stands out. I'd rather guys like him slip to the Rookie Draft, but it really makes no difference if we use a 3rd or 4th round Draft pick on him or wait for the Rookie Draft or even play him for another year in the Academy as long we end up with him should he prove to be worthy.Crossley is pretty good for a big boy, but do drift in and out of the game inconsistent , I think need to build his games in NEAFL, I am not too worry about McDonald getting drafted by other team, he is good in term of potential , not many team in AFL going to delist ~8 players if they are not in rebuild and in term of Top 40 potential talent most team will pick Victoria , tassie and SA kids first and then WA , Victoria team only pick Elite junior like Beam type .
Yes, he's going to be a required player in the future if he can get through this season. I like seeing him on the wing in the NEAFL and feel his future position in the AFL will be wing where his running and marking can be more of a feature. He's poetry in motion with the ball in hand on the run and he's so much better when he isn't directly marking up on a tall attacking player.Great to see KK back playing. Whenever he gets the ball he looks composed and way higher than the level (which he is). Needs a good run of 3-4 weeks and then he should be in.
He is going to replace Risca , kk Ballard scrimshaw all elite kicking should play HB iMO. I am not convince on Nutting yet.Yes, he's going to be a required player in the future if he can get through this season. Watched the whole game there is no way Jaska was 2nd best whoever is putting out this list has no idea.Wow Josh Jaska 2nd with 4 disposal ?
Without seeing the match I can only speculate, but if he was marking their best key forward it doesn't matter how many disposals he had.Wow Josh Jaska 2nd with 4 disposal ?
How good was Goober?!
Their best key forward would be Jacob Derickx - currently the 3rd best goalkicker in NEAFL. ( 24 goals).Without seeing the match I can only speculate, but if he was marking their best key forward it doesn't matter how many disposals he had.
He played like an out of control mobile steamtrain...brilliant !How good was Goober?!
Guess it was the encouragement award. Still, I rate Jaska from the games I've seen and hope to see him in the AFL team at some point because he has been playing KPP most of the year and is stepping up with Leslie in the AFL team. He's behind Spencer on any depth chart, but given May, Thompson and Day could all miss the next game, is this part of the Josh Jaska debutant story? Going on today's fishguts Bulletin story, possibly next man up unless Crossley is too irresistible to ignore as a second defensive tall and general beast?Their best key forward would be Jacob Derickx - currently the 3rd best goalkicker in NEAFL. Kicked 3-2 against us from 12 disposals and 7 marks...
Early days, but how good would it be to have an All-Academy Suns midfield with Goober, Dawson, Bowes, and Scheer? Not to discount Miller, Lyons and Swallow because you still need bench players! Apparently Brodie is going to Carlton, so there could be a spot for Ashton Crossley as well.He played like an out of control mobile steamtrain...brilliant !
Good for the club retention wise but would be uncompetitive and sitting on the bottom of the ladder every yearEarly days, but how good would it be to have an All-Academy Suns midfield with Goober, Dawson, Bowes, and Scheer? I'm talking 2021 here, if not later. Also, this is the current best NEAFL midfield with Brodie instead of Bowes. Not at all a bad group and your analysis of it is super cynical.Good for the club retention wise but would be uncompetitive and sitting on the bottom of the ladder every year

I got to applaud you for turning something that so negative and become positive , you can rewatched the match on YouTube if you want , .Crossley basically ruck against tagliablue (10 disposal ) and jonathan mash (debut with 2 goal , 12 disposal ) .Without seeing the match I can only speculate, but if he was marking their best key forward it doesn't matter how many disposals he had.
Having watched most of his games and seeing him develop into a quality defender, yeah, I can speculate. Nothing you've said changes that. Jaska's games this year have been extremely promising.I got to applaud you for turning something that so negative and become positive , you can rewatched the match on YouTube if you want , .Crossley basically ruck against tagliablue (10 disposal ) and jonathan mash (debut with 2 goal , 12 disposal ) .

Tagliablue is their primary ruckman. Had 35 hitouts but couldn't keep up with Goobs around the ground or in the physical stuff .I got to applaud you for turning something that so negative and become positive , you can rewatched the match on YouTube if you want , .Crossley basically ruck against tagliablue (10 disposal ) and jonathan mash (debut with 2 goal , 12 disposal ) .
