Without and he looked much better-but even at NEAFL level a lot of his disposals were unnecessarily under pressure because he took another step or two
Think that's a good sign - maybe a couple more in NEAFL like last weekend will get his confidence back..

Sorry guys, had a mix up with the stats. These are the correct figures.

If you have a look at the points for Best on Ground before counting possessions, you'll see Powell, Boakye and Nutting placed higher without getting outstanding stats like Dawson, who again starred in his sweeper role. Powell was brilliant in patches, especially his 3 goal 2nd term, but for all his trying he still isn't big enough to stop men. Boakye has amazing skills and he will have a career in Senior footy, but he needs 10 more games like this to even enter the plans of recruiters. Nutting is the next man up for mine because of the way he defends, closely marking a bigger opponent, showing great speed and agility.

That's why you need to draft Rankine and Hately type who already got the body to play against mens and not boy .

Jeez, what does my man Micky Barlow needs to do to get a bit of love at GC! 46 possies (pretty standard for him) and can't crack a BOG and people here want to delist him! Just don't get it.

Not delist him, he will most likely retire. Has been injured since playing against Adelaide. Will probably come in against Geelong

I get your point re injury - but he's only 30 and provided he stays injury-free and keeps his form up, no reason why he wouldn't have a good year or two in him yet.. IMO. He's clearly way too good for NEAFL.

With the modern game disposal is the issue .

I don’t want him delisted but when asked I said I think he will be. Others probably feeling the same.

The one certainty at year's end is that players will be delisted. There's always a player you don't want to see gone, but the list management decisions often come down on fringe players over 30. Not many want to see him gone, but it is a possibility. The Suns have this ridiculously young list that possibly needs to get younger again on average by delisting 3 over 30s players and bring bringing in a new batch of 18yos. Barlow's injury last year keeps getting played down, but it was a bad one it has slowed him down. I hope he comes back into the team and improves it. I was not impressed with his outing against Adelaide and he has since been out injured. Good comeback game in the NEAFL and in the mix to return to Senior footy.

BTW, Grimlock's NEAFL stats are interesting because the live app always shows a significantly lower number at game's end compared to the revised number later in the week. Not doubting the veracity of his stats, just that I watched the game and didn't come away thinking Barlow and Kolodjashnij had won that much footy.

Ok, thanks 17er ...I must admit I rarely see GC games so can only go on stats - and he is always prolific. If I remember rightly Adelaide game was first senior game for months after bad injury, then he seemed to have 'soreness' for weeks - or was dropped (?) Anyway I remain hopeful.

To explain the discrepancy, the live stats are called by a CD person live at the ground, sometimes due to bad angles, unfamiliar faces and a lack of a replay they cannot call who had a kick/handball etc. A day or 2 days later, they correct the missed stats by looking at the video footage. The amount of missed stats will depend on the skill and experience of the CD employee, I've found (because I tabulate all the NEAFL stats) that the Queensland callers aren't as good as the Sydney based ones.

The QLD callers are heroically bad, but at least they are entertaining. Saturday night I think they were the Darwin crew because they certainly knew more about NT than the Suns. To clarify, I was more saying that following the live stats and sometimes irritating commentary meant that a lot of Suns players didn't have their names called, especially Kolodjashnij without headgear, who you could clearly see getting a bit of it, but I think he was confused with other Suns with similar builds.

When I say caller I don't mean the stream commentators (who btw I completely agree the NT callers are so biased), there's a separate guy who sits there and calls kicks/handballs/marks etc.

Lyons named.

In other news we actually have a spine in the NEAFL this week! Keen to watch Graham.

Lyons can still be non playing emergency for AFL or Dawson.

The team looks good, 16 listed players. Graham with 2MP forward, Crossley, Leslie - great spine. Great to see Lemmens back.
