The way that the club has put itself out there looking for a 'big fish' so publicly over the last few seasons has been truly embarrassing.

To the point where I wonder who is head of PR. Is that Heath's role or is he purely the media guy?

Surely the club has experienced PR people at the top of the brand/marketing dept.

If whoever that guy is has half a clue, he has already told Brad to keep his mouth shut this time around.

The first few times, you could put down to some kind of Machiavellian plan, 3D chess or something.

No. Not after last season.

Please stop embarrassing all of us. We look like the dolled-up fatty with nobody to go home with at the end of the night.

As someone who dabbles with PR, you can be the best PR person in the world, it doesn't make a lick of difference if people can't shut their pie holes.

And it's usually agents or other industry people tittering to themselves.

We haven't put out shit. Managers talk, it's what they do. Absolutely nothing to do with us.

We have money and noone to give it to, we've rightly been exploring what would make us better.

What would be embarrassing is if we sat on our hands and didn't talk to people.

If Atley wants to join us, and he was thrown in as part of the Polec deal, why wouldn’t we take him on, for depth if nothing else. I’m sure he’s worthy of a list spot over someone like Morgan, J Williams, etc.
We may not have the expected list spots to facilitate with what we want to do in the off season?

How would you describe your memory? Good? Bad? Mediocre?
How would you describe your comprehension and mental faculty?

Managers talk, that's what gets this stuff out there.

We've only ever commented on targeting players well after the fact of it being out there in the media for a long time.

Shit we were linked to Dusty all year and Brad refused to touch the question til basically end of season.

If you want to have a whinge, target those who represent the players.

What difference does that make?

Take a step back and listen to yourself, man.
You're literally complaining about the club putting itself out there looking for a big fish.

Thats all media speak.

All we have done is made inquiries of players we would be idiots not to speak to.

Managers let slip that we've approached the player because it pumps up their clients value, media goes nuts with it.

People at the club get asked about it, answer is usually "Not good to talk about other clubs players mid season" and left at that.

Not sure how thats a problem with the club.

Take a step back and listen to yourself, man.

Didn't Carl Dilena go on record multiple times being bullish about going for F/A's?
He refuted reports we were targetting McGovern, but said that we were on the right track to showing we were a decent destination for potential recruits int he future.

Incorrect. I am criticisng the public commentary on it.

'Big fish', 'war chest', 'we would love to have him at the club'.

How about, 'We plan to be active during the trade period, as does every club. Next question.'

Bang. That's all that needs to be said.

Especially after the last couple of years. Time to lay low.
