2019 Draft

Given both clubs should finish high up the ladder, my point stands.
We slid down a spot today and could well slide down a spot or two next year.
Of course we could slide up a spot as well, but i just don't see any point in that trade at all.

Maybe it is Freo’s second round pick that they gave them for Aish?

I do, we where not going to pick Bianco so we lost nothing.

We anticipate to finish ahead of the Pies in 2020. So all things being equal our second round pick in 2020 has improved for nothing.

Its a clear win plus get browny points with Pies which might help in future trades/outs
****ing Collingwood picking my two drafts steals i rated top 25 the campaigners

Fmd it's a simple question, I'm genuinely interested in the truth. So far it seems like it's just 2 fan bases throwing shit with basically no evidence. Neither side can provide anything much
Fwiw, I went to our AGM last year and asked Blair Hartley if we were going to take Stocker. He straight up said with RCD on the board, we wouldn't take Stocker as we really rated Riley. Doesn't mean it's gospel, but on face value, we were always taking RCD

There’s no reaction time, players start when they’re ready. The timing gate start once they break the plane.
Right. So we compare Biggie's 2.86 to Bolt's 2.70. Still goddamn quick.

We didn’t rate Bianco. He’s not our type. Move on. He wasn’t a consideration for us.
Yeah, we get our Jayden Shorts in the rookie draft, and we're full up.

Bit weird, yeah. My thought is we knew Collingwood wanted Bianco, we didn't, and we wanted a few more minutes to consider our next pick.

A mate of mine went to a coterie draft night last year and said you could cut diamonds with Matt Clarke's hard-on for RCD.

can someone ecplain the trade with Collingwood to me?
Did we move spots and then just exchange 2nd rounder for 2020?
Or did they give us something else?
If it's the former, then we could potentially have moved DOWN both drafts?

Yeah seemed stupid. Heaps of risk in that trade for no guaranteed gain. Shouldn’t trade unless it’s for a clear benefit.

Just don’t understand the negativity. The last few years have proven our recruiting team know what they are doing. How many premiership players did we get for nothing that no other clubs considered. We all have opinions on what we needed to draft but the club has proven they know what they are doing. A lot of high draft picks have turned out to be spuds and some stars but the real skill in recruiting is getting the most out of low draft picks or the rookie draft of which we have done exceptionally well the last couple of years.

The round 2 pick we got from the Pies is the Saints round 2 pick for 2020 as the Pies had traded their pick to Brisbane already.

I tell you what Stack, Ross, RCD, Balta, Graham, CCJ and others of that vintage will not be happy. Instead of picking players more ready made like Thayen we went the speculative route for some that are 3-4 years away or not at all.

On top of that Ross and RCD has to compete with the likes of Dow, Cumberland and Marytn for similar spots in the middle at times.

We do not have a ready made Thayen to assist in the forward line without Townsend if we get into a few injuries and so forth either which might be the difference in a final.

I just do not understand the rationale, we have risks and weakness that have not been addressed.

Watching them play I get one of Cumberland and Martyn but not both.

What if we get a significant injury to JR or Martin regarding forward line effectiveness?

I remember prior to '17 there were massive sooks because we drafted "short people". At the time you had to draft 6'2" onballers. Which is all fine but no club except the expansion clubs could draft five 6'2" gun onballers. So we drafted a bunch of guys about 5'10" who were guns. What did we do? We changed the way the game is played.

Now we look like we are drafting kids who are really ****ing fast and agile. I dig it.

Given we just won the flag we were never going to pick the eyes out of this draft.

I don't know any of these kids and it's years since I cared about drafts. It's a lost cause unless you are connected to one of the TAC clubs. Let the professionals do their job and back them in.

The melts did not disappoint!
