2019 Draft

Would be nice, but we have Moore Balta Chol and even CCJ so do we need him? If Moore goes for opportunity then he maybe required. Jake is a big unit and does a lot of running and with the correct program I think he could make it. He’s not as mobile as Moore yet, but has power in a young body.
Spoke to Uncle Leo last night when he called to congratulate me for Richmond winning some event. He will keep me informed were his last words.
What are the chances to re program into a KPD , Most good defenders start off as fowards and he has the size and build just not sure about his pace

We should try to bring a developing tall forward to the club. Someone ready to take Riewoldt's spot in a couple of years.

It's the position we have the least depth in

Nothings impossible and his pace is good enough. His FL role is more a team one where he really does the physical grunt work. Of course he has his days where he plays a traditional role. Has the smarts and Garthwaite could do with him around. Miller was recovering from an appendix operation this year and struggled to live up to 17 and I don’t rate him as a defender where the club were often playing him.

Will have 4 picks most likely in top 40.19 and 21 go to the draft with unless a top deal comes as a trade. Players slide in first round so will be value still.Best avaible with those 2 picks and 39 and 40 for needs good value late in draft this year.

19, 21 (Ellis), 38, 39 (traded from Suns to Richmond, last season)

plus picks for Butler, Menadue(?), Mcintosh(?) etc.

Pretty strong starting point post winning the AFL and VFL flags.

Pick 1 and Pick 20 to the Gold Coast as part of special assistance package from the AFL

I will also ask that anyone interested, particularly Richmond fans please check your picks. A couple of things just broke, messing up the round colours particularly. I think they're correct now but yeah. If you notice anything odd please let me know. :)

My question will you take these 2 picks to the draft? would you be willing to trade them for a future first? What's the next plan for the Tiger machine?

I would be happy to either trade up to a top 5 pick or keep our current hand - a few good mids might slip to that 20 range and some of the talls sound alright. If you make a Richmond under 23/24 team i reckon a few more quality bigs or smalls would be welcome

Id prefer youth instead of Zac Jones types but the club seem to know what they are doing the last few years so she should be right

If we trade in Zak Jones and he's getting games ahead of the likes of Ross I wouldn't at all be surprised if he upped stakes at the end of the year.
Unless Jones is prepared to play a Weller role for the club on peanuts (which he isn't) we'd be silly to draft him. If we learned anything this year it's the value of injecting our talented youngsters into the AFL rather than playing the safe options.

Ross and RCD will go if they dont get game ...

RCD, you'd hope, would be realistic enough to realise he simply hasn't been banging the door down for selection and embrace development through the VFL. Ross would be best 22 for the vast majority (if not all) clubs imo and would be justifiably pissed.

Suns might do

* future first
* 19
* 21

for Rowell? throw in some steak knifes

would be an amazing pick up for the Tigers and low starting salary would be a bonus. Suns get a lot of assets for the rebuild, essentially three first rounders

Suns would never do that. The whole point of the priority pick is that they will keep Rowell and Anderson together.

What about

* 38

that a seriously tasty offer. Its highly unrealistic however so i would look at targeting Melbourne, Saints, Adelaide etc. high draft picks. the rumors are they might be happy to trade back, so many 19/21 would do it?

I’m not sure if many clubs would come to the party but if we could manage to get a top ten pick and our recruiters really rated someone I’d like to see the club try to upgrade pick 19 and our Ellis compo.

I’d love to try and bring in a classy tall forward to be able to takeover from Riewoldt in a few years time. It appears this years draft is dominated with midfielders though.

Yeah whatever. the thing is who is in the draft and is called Jack?

We draft Jack's, and they are good. It's the Richmond way.
My continued hope is that someday there is a Jack Ripper in the draft and we take him... Can you imagine the banners in the cheer squad

If quality mids stand out in this draft I would prefer to go for them than some long shot tall simply for list balance. I know the salary cap is tight but next year Jeremy Cameron becomes a restricted free agent and Ben King is out of contract. Cameron will be 28 by the 2021 season and might be desperate for the ultimate success if GWS slips down the ladder. Everyone assumes that Ben King if he came back will go to St Kilda, because of his support of that club as a kid and his brother Max. Well, a lot of people assumed Lynch would go to Collingwood for one of those same reasons. No doubt hard decisions would need to be made list wise if we were to go for either (especially the latter, again the first one considering his age and desire for success might not cost as much salary as some might suspect), but if Coleman-Jones looks like by then he is shaping more a ruckman than a key forward then I'd love to be in the race. Imagine the melts if we got either one of them. We'd be seriously talking the stuff of dynasties here.

I'm a bit more up about RCD. He could have been given the nod over Pickett for BOG in the VFL grand final. At 193cm and by next year 83kg+, and hits his tackles as hard as anyone, I think he will be getting games much earlier than most think.

Is Hugh Beasley a chance on the rookie list camed back after injury this year in vfl was very good and been consistently best in vfl.KP defender 193cm.

I reckon we will rookie him, it’s the same with Aarts, if you prove yourself in our VFL team we will give you a go. It’s a great incentive.

If we could get Norths 1st rounder
Brodie Kemp is the player that would be perfect fit for Richmond but he will most likely be taken top 10 , But if we keep our current picks
I really like Cooper Stephens who is a big inside mid that gets alot of the ball and has a big tank.

would have been top 10 this year if he didnt break his leg

Emerson Jeka from western jets was touted by shifter Sheahan as number 1 pick 2 years ago. Had injuries and growing pains last couple years. Can play kpf or kpd but all juniors was a forward. Local Altona boy who can come cheap and wash away the memories of Jayden post lol
