He's a bit slow I reckon and at 193cm he'd be competing with Broad and Grimes. Can't see it.Is Hugh Beasley a chance on the rookie list camed back after injury this year in vfl was very good and been consistently best in vfl.KP defender 193cm.

Nick Rivers.
Make it happen.
If we had it we could swap it for.... PrestiaII.Do not want pick 6, that number is cursed...

Too even of a draft to package picks up for one player in my opinion unless of course you're dead set on a player but thats a hard conclusion to reach in this draft. Which of the first rounders the only ones who will be potentially available and are worthy trading up for are Kemp and McCasey, Kemp for his untapped potential and knee injury pushing him back and McCasey for being the best key position player in the draft and potentially looking at him as a case of best available but more importantly someone who could replace Astbury/Rance in a few years time.
As for who to take at 39,40 and 41 its anyones best guess as to who will still be on the board. At this stage I really like Brock Smith, Trey Ruscoe and Jai Jackson. While a long term project in the form of a ruckman may be on the cards which Nick Bryan and Charlie Comben are two guys who could be worth taking at this point of the draft.
Oh, I'm not writing him off but his GF was his best game for the season by a fair margin.I'm a bit more up about RCD. He could have been given the nod over Pickett for BOG in the VFL grand final. At 193cm and by next year 83kg+, and hits his tackles as hard as anyone, I think he will be getting games much earlier than most think.
Yes it was and not accusing your of writing him off, I just think he went about his work all season working on what it takes to play inside mid against men, a big adjustment, and later in the season especially finals I noticed how hard he was hitting packs and players when tackling and then it clicked in the GF that he could use his pace and back himself. Very much reminded me of his U18 highlights. That is a massive jump in one season, or even half a season. So I think he will be 85kg's+ next season at least so I think he will be knocking hard on the door at the least.Oh, I'm not writing him off but his GF was his best game for the season by a fair margin.
Was regularly posting single digit possession counts through the H&A, though. If he has a big pre-season he'd be right in the mix for r1.
Hopefully he's wise enough not get get ahead of himself.
I think our young kids have missed out on a bit of development over the last couple of yesr. Because we have been so good, we haven't wanted to throw our side around much (except for injuries), so the young kids haven't had too many chances - except as top-ups. We've always known what our best 22-25 was, and so the aim was to get that on the field as much as possible to win games and make finals, and maybe win flags.
If we had been an average middle-of-the road side without any real premiership ambition for a couple of years or so, I've no doubt that players like RCD, CCJ, JR (sorry - couldn't stop myself), Garthwaite, Naish, Aarts and co would have played a few more games in the seniors. Our bottom-6 guys like Ellis, Broad, maybe Castagna, maybe K-Mac would have been shuffled more to the magoos as we were looking for players 'to be a part of our next premiership'.
Also complicated by the fact that the 'new guys' who have become regulars this season - Soldo, Baker, Stack, even Chol - were rookies. That's some damn good 'Diamonds in the Rough' work by our recruiters, but it means our draft kids have been up against it. Add to that we WERE competing for a flag, and that one thing that is critical in finals is mature bodies - we didn't want to p*ss around to much with kids. I've no doubt that played a part in the Pickett vs Ross selection.
It's one of the reasons our VFL side has been so good. But it also means we are likely going to see some of them want to leave for more opportunity if they don't gat decent chances soon.
Agree but on the other side some of those kids like Stack, Bolton and Baker got games partly due to all the injuries, and were good enough to stay in. Reckon a few will might like MacIntosh, Butler, Ellis(obviously), Markov and Menadue, so the list of next in line is shorter at least. You could really see the development in players like RCD and CCJ due to getting used to playing against the big bodies, at the end of the season.I think our young kids have missed out on a bit of development over the last couple of yesr. Cooper Stephens seems to be climbing up the boards so might not be there at our first but if he is I’d definitely take him. Most likely it will be best available ala RCD.Best available with our first if Rivers is still there that would be a great result but looking unlikely
Re inside mids a couple that would definitely be available are
Cooper Stephens who has battled injury all season and Jay Rantall. Both performed very well at the combine
Maybe some sliders with our 3 picks in the late 30s

Anyone with a decent idea of what key forwards we can take?
Not a good draft for talls. Maybe 2 (ruck&KPD) in the top 20. Most of the rest are a bit of a hit or miss project players imo. No outstanding KPF unfortunately.Anyone with a decent idea of what key forwards we can take?
