To be honest, Cogs wasn't really in my consideration until JLT. But now I look back over his 2018 figures and see the upside (injury affected, playing fwd, etc). He could well go @ 120 this year.
That's a strong midfield. Nice.

He should still be very good but I did Witho to BSmith and feel fine with it. Gives me heaps of cash to play with

Clarke or Duursma I'v got both on field. Duursma's utility may help you if you dont have any other Def/Mid in your team.
Can't react to everything in JLT. Don't think anything has changed from last year so he's still as locked in my team as he was day 1.

Not quite a direct answer but my D5-8 are Ridley, Clark, Duursma, Hore. Three of those are under 250k.

Hore a concern but may be forced to hope he can improve his scoring (and get a game) as there s a real shortage of bench priced Def rookies, feel we will all ave to ave a 200k + one one the bench then an underwhelming performer like Hore just as a warm body in D8

You have a bloke on the pine who is 240k? Could put Burgess in who is 170k and spend the coin elsewhere

im the same with Clark/Duursma D6/7. I have Burgess up forward at the moment and theres seemingly not enough depth in fwd/back rooks to go with 2 cheap def bench options. Could do more/Burgess but then Im not keen on any of the 240k forward rookies so structurally not quite work

Those to me all look very likely to line up round 1. Maybe except for Hore. Wouldn't surprise me if he doesn't make the cut and then we'll all be scrambling for someone to fill that spot

i still need 1 more, plus im more wedded to my top 5 defenders, in particular mid pricers at D4/5 than I am equivalents up forward.
happy to "waste" 50k on then bench for better overall early season cash generation

Yes a part of me dies having that much cash on the pine. But I've currently got Burgess FWD (Drew, Setters on field and Parker, Burgess on bench). Keen to see how Balta goes JLT2 of course..
Collins is $240k, and I like the scoring potential of Clark and Duursma more at this stage.
Meanwhile, Scrimshaw starting well tonight, only $200k. If he cements a spot R1 then I might feel more confident starting 2 rookies in defence. But fairly cautious at the moment.
