My word is we will definitely see one if not two retirements tomorrrow.
Marsh to sign, as well.
Sad day for the St Kilda Football Club.
It will be sad if true. But better for the players to retire rathen get permanent damage

If true i feel for both Paddy and Robbo. Hopefully they have set themselves up post footy to live a great life!

In saying that, this opens up opportunity for others to make a career for themselves.

Marshall and Pierce are the main two that will benefit from this. Marshall to play forward and pinch hit in the Ruck man Pierce/Longer need a rest leaving Bruce to play exclusively forward.

Battle/Austin/Joyce/Marsh gives these guys an opportunity to cement themselves as AFL players and not be on the fringes. let's hope that the boys can step up if in the unfortunate instance we lose the above 2 players.

I feel so sorry for Paddy, he has had mountains to climb with his diabetes and the concussions, but he is making the right decision. Same goes for Robbo if he retires, footy is only a small part of his life and he has to consider his family. Losing 1 or both will be a huge loss for the club and very sad. What is it with our football club the karma gods must hate us?

was driving in reflecting on what i wrote yesterday. i want to apologize. i don't want to be seen as dancing on the grave of someones career. someone losing their livelihood is incredibly serious. no one wants to go through that. beyond death its probably next worst thing we all fear! i couldn't think of anything worse than not being able to provide for my family. it was not my intention at all. god forbid paddy's family or friends read it and take it that way! i don't want to be seen in that light!

hopefully it's a minor scare, he's fit, healthy and he goes onto playing another 150 games and kicking a bunch of goals!

A very welcome mea culpa.

is there any advantage to retiring now vs seeing how it goes over the season and then doing it?

By the sound of it Roberton has no issues in day to day life, so waiting for the season would probably not prove anything.
Its probably a matter of stressing himself to the max and seeing if there is a problem.

Because the rookie draft occurred before Robbo's wonkiness, Carlisle's long term injury and Austin and Clav's injuries, plus we had already drafted Wilkie.
Referring generally, all 17 other teams. I get that there will just be players missed and perhaps a little reticent given his history, but just wondering if there was any specific info out there.
