Is it just me or is it drifting towards established players being more overated than draft picks? For so long Hawthorn have felt draft picks have been overrated so we traded for established players. If it seems that now other clubs look like paying over the odds for players maybe we will hit the draft harder

I think it depends on the draft. In super drafts, clubs seem keen to load up on picks, weaker very even drafts, they realise pick 25 could get you exactly the same player as pick 75.

Seems to be a clear new approach to our trade period this year as far as media is concerned. I don't think we're going to be getting a play-by-play from Wrighty, but we've already heard way more from him this year than we did last year and that's got to be intentional.

I think we've learned from the Burton situation that our radio silence approach comes with its own set of downsides. I suspect we'll be trying to control the stories we're involved in this year.

Though "amazing" suggests some degree of surprise coming from it. Essendon/Dodoro being hypocritical on the subject of how everyone should conduct themselves in terms of following league rules does not begin to amaze me.
