Weights are normal size, he just makes em look small !

Sorry to post here but it’s a busy thread and I’m getting p’d off. Have booked flight for the port game round two but can’t for the life of me find how to get tickets. Can someone please point me in the right direction ?
Cheers

Best way I’ve found is through Virgin AFL Travel (hotel & tix if you’ve bagged your flight). Unless you want a fancy package & PTA Corporate is the avenue.

I'm keen to see Gibbons at AFL level and would not be surprised to see him out there round 1. I think McKay, Curnow and McGovern are locks. The other forwards though. Fisher, Gibbons and Polson would really liven things up, especially with Fasolo in the mix who would have to be a chance.

Fisher - Natural forward qualities, pace to burn, can kick a goal, crumbs well and can go through the midfield, super agile. Provides excellent forward pressure.

Gibbons - The VFL's best player, should be able to apply elite pressure, great pace, known to be a good crumber and goal kicker, can rotate through the midfield, super agile, Similar qualities to Fisher really.

Polson - Proved he has a lot of ability to apply forward pressure, has pace and had a few games later last season where he kicked goals and got a bit of the footy. Thought he finished off alright.

Fasolo - Not great for his forward pressure but known goal kicker with good pace and overhead for his size.

It's a good mix. Marking power, pace and pressure.

Fisher is the only real quality player in that group.

We may get away with one of the others when the wheels are turning, but I fear we'd soon find out that two or more of the others in the same team together, may start to weigh us down.
Fasolo does though have a stand-alone position he can make his own and actually kick some goals.....Polson & Gibbons though? Not so sure.

Fact is, we don't have one genuine small crumbing forward. Defence is good. Attack is better.

If Gibbons plays (and I expect him to) our midfield/small forwards will be Cripps Kennedy Curnow SPS Dow Setterfield Walsh Fisher Cuningham Murphy O'Brien & Gibbons. Polson & Thomas could be the small forward options. Example

Kruezer Kennedy Curnow
Murphy Cripps O'Brien

SPS Charlie Gibbons
McGovern McKay Polson

On bench: Dow Walsh Fisher. Try and fit in Cuningham Thomas Setterfield (when fit) as well. Then Stocker Lang LeBois & Fasolo.

Not Bad and I don't see goals (or defensive pressure) as an issue. :)

We have LeBois & Fasolo and Polson will get better.

I see a massive advantage in having a group of players able to rotate through the midfield and forward line. Keeps us fresh, hard to match up on and an option of so many different goal kicking options.

It's our new mosquito fleet but also with size and strength

Just one of those things we'll have to see play out in practice and not just theory, although my leanings are towards Cripps, Setterfield, Dow and Walsh all capable of 'resting' and being a nuisance in the forward 50.

I guess we don't care who kicks the goals in the end as long as they're being kicked, but some will simply show up to be better at it than others.

I appreciate some people don't care for those smalls hovering at the feet of those who can take front position and bring the ball to ground, but again, I just see us pining for those types as the season goes along. We'll see.

Or is it more a case of “boys to men” & the change is more noticeable ? Jsos especially looks like a man now & not so much a sachool kid.

I felt previous years we just built muscle. This year we look toned. Jack for instance hasn’t built up but toned through. Murphy has lost muscle but looks leaner.

I see that we just have heaps of options and flexibility for that role. We are potentially as potent as any side

I’m stoked with the Russell appointment but I think people are seriously getting carried away. If you look at Hawthorn they literally only had two great runners and they where drafted as great runners already. I’m not arguing that he can’t get the best out of players bodies but there is a limit of gains you can achieve and it’s a lot smaller than I think some believe.

But have you seen the photos? the change in shape is unbelievable

I'm actually mad that this is getting more likes than the original posts. :(

Except it's across the board, not just the kids.
