I think we are okay with small forwards. I mean obviously having Taylor there would have been an advantage but we have Papley, Gulden, Wicks and Ronke who can all do it with varying degrees of ability.

No they can’t, they’re not indigenous enough

Paddy is most likely a much better person than Patton.

Of course it is impossible to tell for sure as I liked Patton before all this, but most people are better than Patton.
I never trusted Patton after he burnt Jerry McGuire...

Reckon Bazzo, Andrews and Chesser could go in the teens.
Chesser probably will, bazzo on needs might slide out but I like Andrews. Reckon Richmond have got this draft year right, going to be a pretty solid top 30 or so with a few 19's getting a look in.
Curious to see what Chad Warner's brother can do, mix of Chad and Will Day one scout said, sounds interesting to me.

Honestly the only spot we need to recruit for is a ruck. If Grundy's 'poor' form continues I'd be happy to trade for him - so long as we don't take all his contract
Pies paid a million bucks a year for a lot of years for him. Now with the new rule changes incl. man on the mark rule, not many stoppages. Down 30% or something. Rucks less important now. Not looking like a wise decision in hindsight. Pies now have a million bucks tied up in someone who does 30% less for the side for the next 7 years.

What positions do they play?

Bazzo KPD
Andrews Tall mid
Chesser mid/utility

Very good midfield draft by the looks. Highest rated prospect is Horne - played very well in SANFL in senior last year.

Quite like Bazzo

We have drafted quite a few mids in the last 3 drafts. I think our needs are
1. Another quality KPD (McCartin, Melican, Brand) then Fox and Rampe that play tall. Not much quality after Mac
2. Another developing ruck (we have none)
3. Another KPF (We have Reid 30, Buddy 33). Logan is a bonus. But another one would be good. Not urgent(next year at the latest)
4. Another Mid. You cannot have too many. Kennedy may retire. Gray WILL be delisted. Bell?

Best available in first - if Bazzo is around our pick, hope we take him.

This year is primarily a mids draft. Could see KPPs develop as the year goes on but reckon we go mid.

My list was not in any order. The vagaries of each year demand you be flexible. Always take the best at your pick etc
I just identified our needs as I see it. I think we are short talls though. The hardest to fill.

Between Warner, Mills, Blakey, Stephens, Campbell, Florent & Rowbottom we have enough youth to let our midfield settle before writing them off as not being A grade. Only position we don't have a potential future is a ruck

Max Geddes must have been in consideration for being drafted so it will be interesting to see if he develops in the ECFL.
