I feel we shouldn't whinge

Albeit it may not be fair, the AFL is making the best of a shit situation

except for the GF which will go to Sydney, to help the expansion footy states rather than being played in SA or WA. That's commercial.

Surely guys like Rockliff, Hayes, Buzza, Watts, Drew, Lienert, Bonner, Sutcliffe, Garner, Bergman, Williams and Georgiades will come in handy with these short breaks.

We play Geelong after a 6 day break after Geelong have a 4 day break so swings and round abouts. It looks like they are giving the home teams one day less off.

We will need to work out how to rotate our players, especially older guys or those most at risk of soft tissue injuries through this period.
Either we throw a game by resting everyone of note against Richmond or we have to have four or five changes a game.

Surely guys like Rockliff, Hayes, Buzza, Watts, Drew, Lienert, Bonner, Sutcliffe, Garner, Bergman, Williams and Georgiades will come in handy with these short breaks.
Plus injuries too (the current and the inevitable). At least our depth is good. Managing Dixon will be crucial.

This year with all the challenges makes me think again of these words of wisdom.

"......Also we know that, should we after striving to our utmost and giving our everything, still not be successful, our efforts will become a further part of this Club's enviable tradition.

Finally, we concede that there can be honour in defeat, but to each of us, honourable defeat of our Club and guernsey can only come after human endeavour on the playing field is completely exhausted."

Caaaarn Ports win the whole fn thing.

I guess we will be well and truly ready for our bye whenever we happen to get it

Yeah it's funny how they're making us play at the GABBA and not Metricon...

Well if they play the grand final there we had better get in some practice.

So the last games are Sydney, Collingwood, Essendon, Hawthorn, North Melbourne and a bye.
They should give us the "Collingwood" draw and give us the last 5 at home.

Last 5 at home and a bye before the Collingwood game would be very fair.
Lol just realised they will probably give us our bye in the last 2 rounds when timings are back to normal.

AFL doesn’t give a crap about the SA teams never have

it’s a joke that
A- we still have to travel a lot
B- don’t get a bye (despite other teams having a bye)
C- having a 4 days brake

Port will get a bye between rounds 13 and 16. This will allow us to freshen up and get ready for a serious tilt at the finals.

Said weeks ago we'd end up getting reamed with no lube by the VFL. 50/50 at best with the home games to come if we're lucky.

No need to reach into the excuse basket, just get it done. We play better away anyway.

It's disappointing for the fans but unless you're a Brisbane or Gold Coast fan based in Queensland, every footy fan in Australia is staring down the barrel of seeing their team somewhere between 0 and 5 or 6 times this year.
