The anytime, anywhere attitude will be essential. Lots of guys will get looks at games. I am thinking all but Burgoyne, pasini, fredericks and Grundy could be getting games.

Will need blokes like garner / Atley / watts to step in, plus be good to some cameos from some of the kids.

We are getting home games with crowds. I’m pretty happy with that all things considered ...

Most teams getting the 4 or 5 day breaks between games. Other than the Bulldogs game, we will go into all those games with equal or more of a break than the opposition.
It will be brutal on everybody, a real test of the depth of lists.

Keep with our positive attitude, and we should be happy with going 3/2 over the next 5 games.

The run home looks juicy - Sydney, Hawthorn and North will all be tanking by then.
I guess I do need to read more post like yours and GBear’s. I admit I did get a bit histrionic there for awhile. 😩😂
And then there is this.

Crap draws are far better than the season being cancelled, lovin having a footy season in trying circumstances.

That's like watching you wife getting plowed by another man and thinking 'at least she isn't leaving me'. We don't have to bend over and take it gleefully while the AFL gives a better deal to 16 other clubs. We get rammed up the arse by the umps more often than other teams because we don't run off and sook like the Victorian coaches. It's time someone at the club gets angry and starts throwing manilla folders at people at AFL house.

Four games in 13 days for the Coll and travel from Perth to Qld to SA to Qld again. At least have Easy games. Cats have four games in 14 days.

I think all teams have it tough. Our Melb on a Thursday in Qld into a Monday night at the portress will be tough

The attitude of the club and playing group is the right one. they are looking and sounding like a traditional port team.
We go out to win no matter what the circumstances but we will still need to rest players during this period I would say no one plays all 4 games. So lots of mixing it up at selection will be looking forward to selection nights over the next month

So at the end of this block, we will have played 8 games this year outside of our home state, compared to Adelaide and Freo's 6 and West Coast's 5. AFL lol.

Yeah what the **** is up with West Coast getting every game at Optus when we have to continue to play away games?

You'd hope we're getting a richmond-like string of home games after this block.

Imagine how well our players would be performing if they cried every time the fixture came out and it was not up to their expectations, sadly this year especially we just have to suck it up and enjoy the ride (which sorta works in with your opening sentences :) )

I heard Whateley yesterday alluding to a block of home games for us, in his words having already done the hard work other clubs are about to do, so very surprised that didn’t eventuate.

I guess Gill did the usual ring around of Eddie and co and decided it wasn’t to their benefit.

I might see if I can get womanly permission to go to the Geelong game at the Gabba. A quick google suggests travel shouldn't be a problem as long as I haven't been in Vic or overseas. Does anyone know different?

It could still happen. Won't, but could.

The WA state government is the issue. They won't allow any of the other side's in without quarantine, same as the Eagles & Dockers if they fly out to play they'd have to quarantine again with the way they've carried on from my understanding of it.

a couple of observation.

- everyone will get tough draws, but the Eagles and Freo might actually get a Richmond style favourable draw. It may ease up in the next group of fixtures.
- I don’t get the AFL obsession with a GF in a certain date in October. The T20 World Cup got cancelled today.
- I’m going to need some time off work. I like to have a few beers whilst watching the footy and my home brew is brutal at the moment.

Will probably have half our squad injured and exhausted by then
I don’t think so. The one part of PAFC i trust entirely are the fitness and rehab staff. I think we will see players managed through out the 15 days. I think we will see 1;or of the new recruits get a game.

Million Dollar question?
Do you strategically rest all regular players in one match to maximise winning the other 3

Potentially, but I guess we have to trust that all players will be managed appropriately. At the end of the day all teams are in the same boat and the teams with the most depth will probably win more games than those who have less depth, during the condensed fixture.
