2020 Membership discussion

Funny thing for me since signing up as a member for 2020 at the start of the season, the above email from Mark Anderson is the one only email I have received from the club for the 2020 season. Is this normal?


I did the pledge as well.

With the GC game being member's round I received about 4 or 5 emails last week. I also receive a few emails from club sponsors etc most weeks with various competitions. If you login to the membership page, click on the drop down from "personal account" and choose "my profile" you can see or manage your "email subscription preferences".

As Jen said buy tic to the final, you can't buy a tic without it. A very kind supporter in this forum did this for me last year (or was it year before ) you played eagles in first final.

ok thanks. the collingwood membership people tend to ignore members outside melb. i was scrounging for info because i might want to go.

i havent been impressed with how the club has treated WA members over the years. Some of it has been from the limited amount of seats that have been available at subi and the new oval. However, the communication was very patchy during the time the team was playing in perth this year. I was advised how to get tickets for the geelong game, but i was given dud info about how to get tickets for the west coast game.

That being said, I was impressed with the email that the club sent to me about ticketing for the elim final. It actually knew that I was a WA member and clearly set out the procedures and information required to get a ticket. It was a welcome change to searching the net to get the necessary info.

Hopefully the stints in perth and queensland this year have reinforced to the club that there are pie supporters outside of victoria. We hear endlessly how the club is the biggest in the country - which isnt the case - and it would be nice to get some value from the interstate membership and be treated as a valued supporter, rather than just a customer for the club's clothing products. Paying $175 and not even getting guaranteed entry into a WA game is a bit like facing a covid scenario on a yearly basis - the general admission access to 5 games at the MCG is not all that useful.

Anyway, the email was well done and appreciated.

My 'Together Forever' keepsakes arrived in the mail. Unfortunately the certificate got slightly folded in the post. But if it wasn't for that it would have looked fairly nice I reckon.

The patch is decent enough and something different to what we'd usually get. The pin is fairly typical.

I did nothing to prompt it arriving other than the pledge months ago, there were no comms to say that it was coming. It was a genuine surprise to me when I checked the mail.

What does being on auto renewal have to do with it? I'm on auto renewal & I pledged.

I would imagine that any members who lapsed this year would get priority over new members, but you might have to check with the club about your seat, especially if its a good one.

I honestly couldn’t be bothered reading it. I pay my money every year, don’t need the hassle.
