10 & 29 for 7 & 40
Not for me.
3 higher inside the top 10 is way, way more valuable than 11 higher once you get to that point in the draft.

I want the deal in our favour.

You pay a premium to upgrade inside the top 10.

He's certainly the most complete mid in the draft that could be available to us, but with every passing week, it appears less and less likely :(
Won't get passed Hawthorn IMO - unless they take Mac Andrew but that may seem a reach with their pick.

This draft will be the most unpredictable in a decade and there's still almost 2 months to go - so much will change.

I fail to see how Andrew gets into the top 10
Still a project and Ruckman no longer get into top 10 unless they are NicNat quality which Andrew is miles away from

No guarantee that the young blokes we bring in will be ready next season. Do we bring in narkle who is ready to go. Or draft a ready to go player and bank on improvement from RCD, Ross. RCDS tank and Ross played in the right spot
There are no guarantee's for sure, but there is more upside in a player like RCD than a player like Narkle. Has some talent but can't crack the Geelong side on a regular basis. RCD fits the modern midfielder but just needs to play more footy. He will be better next season, that is just normal development.

You bring in Narkle to play where midfield? There are a lot of players in front of him. Bring in an A grader no doubt, if they are young enough, but a barely B grader, what's the point, especially when they are a small mid, something we have enough of.

For sure i'd love a deal like that(Help us with Tom Green deal next year).
I doubt WC would though not just for 3 spots.
Tom green, what an obsession that kid is on this forum. He’s never going to leave the Giants guys, accept it. Yes, he may have had a soft spot for us when he was a junior but they will never let him go and he’s happy in Sydney. Let it go, please!!! We will probably recruit a similar player in this draft. Here’s hoping as I’m sick of hearing the name and delusional fixation on Tom Green😂

I can't match that proposal I must admit but there is talk that West Coast are very keen on getting Pick 7 from us to get in front of Fremantle at pick 8. If this is true it will be interesting to see what they offer. To make it worthwhile for Richmond you would think it would have to involve pick 10 and maybe a second pick from this year or next.
I'd give up 7 and 28 for 10 and next year's first. We'd still have 5 picks in the 1st 3 rounds this year and I can see West Coast missing the finals next year too.

You need to open your mind and consider if the players want to win premierships and the clubs want to win premierships, and everything else is sorted how could this be done with a divergent course and ensure no one screws the other over like GWS holding on to a player or two.

How could RFC ensure GWS has to trade back to RFC even if it was for one year? How could RFC incentivise GWS to do that heavily. Have a think about that once you open your mind and consider the possibilities of what a club and the players can and cannot do?

Ignoring your attitude boundaries that discriminate against your imagination how could RFC achieve this if them and the players wanted to do this and ensure they where not screwed over?

Father time just caught up with Djokovic by the way. All part of life.

Clubs have done a few tricky things in recent years with contracts of players traded. Have a think about it. If you wanted a player that was willing to go and come back how would you construct the trade to ensure that player comes back amongst others in this instance so the receiver club is virtually forced to trade back and enable a loan scenario? I could tell you how to do it applying methods we have seen but why should I inform others of what the clubs should be able to figure out if its to the clubs and players advantage? It is easy to say trade Deledio and get him back in 4 years or whatever. However, in recent years, based on what has occurred, it should not take a rocket scientist to figure out, how a club could enable such a situation to occur with another club, even for one year, given certain scenarios that could be constructed between player movements such a boomerang scenario be enabled that could be very difficult to break

so would I - trouble is I can't see any way they'd be interested in that deal. The only deal like that which could get done (still think it favours us) would be 7 + 15 for 10 + future first

That’s even worse, what a terrible deal that would be for us.

Exactly.. it's like any other player as a hypothetical really. 'we should make sure we have enough picks next year to trade for (insert any gun mid name here)!

Eagles would be out of their minds to even contemplate that.

Nice melt Toby Greene.😛😁

2 firsts for 2 firsts (including one in a draft which will have more clarity?). Don't get me wrong if they offered to trade us a first rounder for pick 30-odd in exchange for just sliding back three spots we would be laughing all the way to the bank - just no way it happens unless eagles recruiters really are 'flying high'

GWS pick 2 is definitely up for grabs

If we can i think we should trade a A+ player for it. Last top 3 picks Lids, Cotchin, Martin...

They desperately need a tall but im not sure CCJ alone would command a pick 2.

when ever i suggest a player everyone one here gets emotional "tHeY ArE a pRem pLaYer aNd tHeY dEseReVe tO reTirE aT tHe cLuB"

and Just beacuse Hawks f'ed it up dosent mean our football departemnt would and people need to get used to a professional football business strategy.
Hawks traded those blokes for peanuts not top picks.

I reckon we’ll just go best available with our firsts, whoever that ends up being is anyone’s guess. I don’t think anyone really knows what order the players will go after the first 3 (Daicos, Darcy & Horne-Francis) but I wouldn’t be surprised if Freo with 6 (Cerra trade) & 8 taking Erasmus & Amiss. Erasmus at 6 because I don’t think he’d get past us to take at 8.
