I don’t want us to recruit another ruck/forward though. A pure key forward type and if we can, and if a decent one is available, a pure key back as well. Not asking for much😳😂
luke jackson going alright for the dees. I don't like getting too cute with high picks, just take the kid we rate the highest. Pretty much always 'need' talent more than you do a specific position

the last time the club actually selected who we all thought we should it was Martin. Tigers love to pull an ace out of the hole ( conca, C. ellis, lenon )

The other one is Mac Andrew, who athletically has them all covered and looks decent above head and on the lead. If he's there at 17 I'd be tempted to pull the trigger. Maybe even at 9 if we really like him, believe he can be a forward and think we can get a mid of equal quality at 17 as at 9.
The issue with him is he's 200cm tall but only 70kg, he's a stick.

Will take several years for him to get his size right for AFL level, could get sick of waiting and do a CCJ.

I am on the inside mids train for our 1st & possibly 2nd pick. On Andrew he's raw & i wouldn't be surprised if he slides given the amount of time he'll take to be ready for Snr footy. At pick 7 we are guaranteed to get a decent player, just have to see who is still there at 7. If the KPP's aren't that highly rated this yr there could be some better ones next yr.

I think you're pretty close. Adelaide have Thilthorpe and Fogarty, so not sure they go for Amiss. I could see them going for Hobbs or Ward or pulling a surprise and going the local kid Draper.

I'm not completely sold on Hobbs. Need to watch more of him. He gets the ball but does he do a lot with it? Does he explode from congestion? Are his hands elite? I prefer Ward.

I think you're right with Adelaide.

I'm a little sus on Hobbs too, bit of a knock on him is that he doesn't hit the ball at speed and is a bit slow, can get his hands on the pill though.

Mac Andrew is intruiging and I wonder if the young Sudanese boys compete really well in the U18's etc. because of their height, leap and speed, but when it comes time to compete with big bodied adults that their not quite up to it. Daw comes to mind even though he was a big unit (maybe was just a shit footballer), seen it with Allir and most certainly with Chol, could Biggy be headed down the same path?

In my mind, we are still in the box seat to get Bulldog's first round pick. Chol compensation & CCJ almost a lock to leave gives us even more draft points to be able to offer them the best deal.
I don't know how the club rates the talls this draft, but if we get that third first round pick I see us going 2 mids and one tall.
Whether they rate Amiss enough to use the first on him and miss Hobbs/Ward/Erasmus, I don't know.
Second pick would probably get Matt Roberts or Josh Sinn, Chesser, Sonsie, Wanganeen.
Bulldogs pick for whoever we like best of Van Rooyen or Williams unless we have already got Amiss or Mac Andrews, in which case we get a second midfielder.

Easier to get good mids later in the draft than good KPP. If they are there, we should be looking at Gibcus/Amiss with pick 7.

I'd be tempted to try and trade our pick 7 for Carltons pick 6, offer them 44 for their pick 61, with us getting picks for CCJ and hopefully either end of 2nd or 3rd round pick for Chol I cant see us needing 44 anyway.

Will give us a bit more flexibility and will probably mean one of Ward or Amiss will be available at that pick.

Carlton are going to trade that pick anyway so could be a good win for them and no real loss for us.

I normally agree but GWS are stacked in midfield. They need bookends. Watch for them to go rogue. I think their pick shapes the top 10.

Hogan injury prone, Himmelberg doesn’t impact games, Greene suspended. Finlayson may go. They struggled to kick goals in that last final. I think they’ll go KPF. Just my view

actuallyHES could surprise and take Mac Andrew. Makes sense to help in the Ruck if Mummy retires

100% agree with this post. Gibcus could be best available at pick 7 and either of them fill a need for us

They have Flynn and Briggs and Pruess so their rucks are pretty much sorted. They are in need of a KPF with Finlayson being a spud, Hogan injured half the time and an unwillingness to play Riccardi which only gives them Himmelberg. Pretty likely they take KPF, whether that's with their 1st pick (2) or their 2nd (13) or both it's hard to tell, FWIW I think they'll go with Callaghan as he's more of an outside player like Kelly, they have a few inside mids who are a bit similar to each other in Taranto, Hopper, Green, Coniglio (if he can get a game)

It has nothing to do with A+ players.

Its about players that fit in a team to win a premiership at a point in time by beating certain opposition like the Bulldogs and Melbourne.

Ultimately, if the club's team is not designed to win premierships or developing to eventually a team combo to win premierships it is blowing wind up your a hole like Geelong
What if the Bulldogs lend the Dees all of their best players so they can win the 2023 flag then in 2024 the Dees swap those players back?

That's only fair if the Dogs reciprocate and lend the Dees their best players in 2024.

I'm a bit pissed off though, being excluded from all that. Probably just an AFL conspiracy to limit free trade.

Why is everyone suggesting we get the dogs first rounder rather than PA's pick. They'll need points for Wanganeen-Milera and a good offer could secure their pick just as easily.
